So it was okay for the PM Imran to catch Maryam Nawaz in front of her dad? It was okay to imprison her in such a way that even her privacy was not protected?
BTW, the article is in a subsidiary of The Economist, which is a reputable publication, and, even if you discount the Pakistani co-author, the other author has no reason to make a false story.
When there is smoke, there is often the fire.
yes, she is a criminal.

Clearly not reading whats been released. Epstein didnt like nor did he like him. In fact found him a real risk to his ilk. He wasnt friends. This is the problem with simpletons. Read a headline - make up your own story.
By the way post respectfully or else..................
ignore that troll ArMalik he is totally mentally challenged. better ignore him

Just take this into account, he barred his closest confidant from attending his swearing in Ceremony who was with him for 6 years everyday, making sure everything was planned and executed perfectly ... just because his wife said so....
his behavior is reflected by his cult followers, just check how they conduct themselves in solcial media and real life and here they can barely contain themselves from writing explitives and getting personal.
whatever the motive of this article, one thing I am really keen to see is if PTI will take the paper to the court to contest the claims? UK papers have been fined heavily in the past when their stories were proven to be false.

Yepp. This is the result of an ongoing clash between military cult vs civilian cult of Pakistan. Take your pick.
I don't take side. unlike the PTI extremists, the Pakistani political discourse is not binary.. where even a slightest criticism is seen as a betrayal leading to harassment online and in the open where they chase people with their families and this mob behaviour is encouraged.

I have no political affiliation, I know what the other two political parties are.. and I don't feel religiously compelled to defend the military on every single thing. I have denounced their treatment of political opponents , their political interference while Jahangir Tareen was poaching electables from other parties for Imran and their leniency towards Taliban and its affiliates.

All said I believe PTI should sue the Economist and hopefully a fair judgement comes out.

Having said that, a lot of preconceived notions about IK turned out to be wrong. Him being an addict, not surving jail, will eventually make deal with the boys, will be proved corrupt etc.

His wife doing black magic or not, did not seem to correlate with IK’s decisions during his tenure. The good, average, worse decisions were completely his own.

re His Jail time I agree that Sherifs dont even come close. Zardari is an exception who was brutally trorcured and had permanent kidney damage. re deal to come out he has many time expresed his willingness to speak to establishment but whenever there is any progress , some people within PTI and even his sister(s) saboutage that effort.

PTI must challenge this article though, it will block all future efforts to malign him.

non political view without reading the article behind the paywall , an observation from afar ........
The fact that Epstein the world's most notorious Paedophile and Mossad Agent hated Imran Khan is a great testimony for the public of Pakistan who voted in there droves for him .
Mossad controls America and America controls Pakistan .

Non sense connection. Epstein, whether Mossad or not, was 'connected' with every major socialite or politician whereever he could mingle with them. IF he found Benazir Bhutto in some gathering of elites he would try to have some 'opinion' on her too--she too was quite a 'socialite' like Imran was.
And Imran got only 30% polled vote.
You apparently have no idea about Pakistan's domestic situation.

if you are going to pick selectively then this can mislead the readers, share the whole story.
his alleged comments dont absolve Imran Khan and make him a sage.
Epstein had no issue when Imran was with his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell in the exclusive elite parties.
the issue Epsien had was Imran's tilt towards Taliban
and he made that commentary, he was not Henry Kesenger that drove American policy otherwise Trump wont have invited Imran Khan and Moed Pirzada wont be begging American senators to help in Imran's relase. Epsien was a pimp who catered for ultra rich and famous and happened to know Imran as well through Ghislaine who later became his confidant

Right!! You put it far better than me! I just posted without reading your's. You said 'exclusive elite parties', I said 'socialite'.

Yes, that pattern seems very clear. Any chance of any overture or peace efforts between PTI and establishment there are headlines maligning IK, IK’s wife, PTI members maligning the establishment and vice versa.

Makes one think there are deeper motives than what is on the surface.

Zardari spent alot of time in jail, but after a few months eventually lived like a king. Alot of his mates during his jail time are millionaires. Yaaro ka yaar hai Zardari.

Or if you have an actual “objective” mentality acknowledging that your dear leader despite good qualities fell to his own weaknesses in the worst way and could not judge how Faiz and co were leading him into a trap - and is now head of a hydra(and some headless necks in it) monster in PTI which is only partially in his directive but mostly driven by sheer lashing out and anarchy drives.

Overall good post except the bolded part: Imran and Faiz and possibly some other Generals were in collaboration to help each others' careers by doing behind the scene machinations to retain and prolong their respective tenures. General Faiz was the ISI Chief--perhaps the second most powerful position in Pakistan after the Army Chief--and yet Faiz is in the docks.
Imran's ouster didn't have much to do with foreign govts except, I think, USA, China and Saudi Arabia didn't care for Imran as the PM. But the wonderful 'Imported Government' or the BS 'Absolutely Not' slogans were enough to tap into Pakistanis' rampant anti-Americanism for which Imran got a year of the megaphone and thus became popular. He was NOT popular by the time the NCM was tabled in April 2022 and that's why he preferred to work behind the scene with the Generals instead of calling early elections.

Bolded part: That's what every sane person would be focused on. But it is to be noted that Imran's current bad situation comes from severe personality flaws; there remains no questions about that, at least not in my mind. And why couldn't one of those flaws be over reliance on some weird form of 'spiritualism'? I bet there are many authentic witnesses who would confirm the weird, exaggerated role Imran's wife played in his decision making over the years. Why should that not be investigated? When a person is leading a large complex nation like Pakistan, then his decision making brain is not some private matter.

As to the timing of this publication: Per Ms. Bushra Taskeen, the work started in Nov. 2024 when Imran's wife led that charge on Islamabad and the focus turned to her and it took one year for the publication after the background work. Per Ms. Taskeen, the publication was to come out early November this year but they couldn't get some info from some govt channels and so got delayed.

Regardless of the motives behind the timing of this publication, it must be understood what Imran's was as the PM of Pakistan who, if any, put in weird crap into this mind. Pakistan had been rife with rumors about Imran's wife but it is now taking a Gora journalist with great reputation to notice the rumors.
Your hate is endless. So sad for a intelligent person like you.
