They have patience. Pakistanis generally do not. We want problems decades in the making to be resolved in 90 days. Why be upset when it does not happen? :D
This needs to be a study - why Pakistanis have tendencies for going straight for instant gratification.

Imran's only 'protege' would be his sons...
His sons!!!

At this point..., Narendr Modi has a better shot.

In a few years down the line, PTI will become the Jamaat-e-Islami as far as relevance is concerened.

...and IK needs to realize that he isn't immortal.

Which is why I mentioned that the idea then(and can always be) was to provide some positivity in the hope that some listen.

And some have, maybe not to the investment in Pakistan but at least in themselves and types of individuals being exported. See some good folks in my generation and also in early Gen Z who are taking good initiatives that otherwise were shrugged by Gen X(who in turn took initiatives that were shrugged by those before them)

True, and I am happy to acknowledge that I have re-learned to maintain some hope after all, and this is in large part to this forum, including you.

Feeble hope perhaps, but a tiny flame still flickers.

It is very simple: Pakistanis will never fix a leaking roof because it does not leak in dry weather, and it is too wet to fix it when it is raining and leaking. :D

There is a psychological study that can explain that but I'm afraid doesn't suit this thread. It has to do with having a large family in a small house where privacy is non-existent, so any act of pleasure/gratification has to be done instantly - thus training the dopamine pathways for instant gratification 🥲

But the serious question is - a nation state was still created - perhaps by people not of the land entirely but also of - with many fictional but also many verified stories of people working through serious adversity.

And then various other stories of people working through adversity.
Some personally witnessed.
So why is it that if push comes to shove there is the ability to work through adversity when “there is no other choice” but there is also the tendency for both premature or excessive celebration followed by excessive relaxation on small wins.

The dysfunction of the Pakistani state makes a lot more sense when you look at the dysfunction of Pakistani joint families.

They can believe in The Flying Spaghetti Monster for all I care, as long as they remain out of power, being above or below the ground does not matter.
how amazing even the self righteous cutiepies are okay with mafia stealing mandate just because they hate IK!!!

gg!

Indeed, it was, against all odds and adversity. It lasted from 1947 to 1977. It is no more.

A new entity that still exists today was created in 1977 to take its place. They are NOT the same except in perhaps the name.

Your hate is endless. So sad for a intelligent person like you.
this is just a tea shop gossip. nothing more than that. Establishment and his opponents know he has a following. the game of thrones Pakistan style, there is no grace here.
he will do the same (and some) to all who tormented him.

this is a great oppertunity for PTI to set the record straight and challeng ethe article and sue for a hefty amount.

you are not pulling any punches sir.,

well I remember she had escaped the country very quickly, within a few days of Imran Khan's ouster. Its also possible she has paid enough bribes to keep herself safe.

PTI should sue The Economist but I don’t expect much from Pakistanis at this point, especially after the Trump family’s Miraasi Showbaz and Field Manhoos failed to sue The Intercept for leaking the fake cypher.
