Sad that we lost that forum, otherwise I would have directed you to Imran's supporters' (including mine) various posts where we bashed him during his PMship. It was natural. So many things he was doing that irked us all. I am still very amazed of his decision to give Bajwa an extension. In fact a few of us friends when sit together for a gupshup, we list down his mistakes.. But we have stopped bashing him because he is now in jail and have probably received the worst kind of personal revenge. He wasn't given a A class jail. He is practically in solitary confinement. Yet he hasn't bowed down yet (and I don't know until when he loses his mental strength.. everyone has a limit).
The people you support have not seen this kind of atrocity. Even when they are jailed for a few years, more than half of the time was spent in hospitals, remaining in a jail where even our middle class would be happy to spend the rest of their lives.
The PTI supporters you will see mostly are with him because of his stance against corruption. I myself hate corruption, VIP culture, lack of civil supremacy, lack of opportunities to poor children to get the same level of education as the rich children.. lack of healthcare facilities for poor people, while rich get govt. sponsorship to get their treatment costs reimbursed. All of these things he was trying to bring. Ask the 60,000 people who got their eyes operated in the first 18 months in Punjab alone on health card, what they think about him. I work in a government healthcare sector and audit government sponsorship programs, and I know how hard it is to finance insurance to cover medical costs of an entire population even in a resourceful country.. Yes, he was not successful in bringing a change in all the sectors, but he was trying. Besides, what do you expect from a 3.5 year rule in which every coalition party was threatening him and almost half of his tenure was consumed by COVID?
I tell you a funny story.. when he was arrested, a friend of mine (a supporter of PTI) said.. acha hua BC ko nanga kar kay ulta latka ke uski tui pe chhittar maarain for he broke his rule of "No Extension", and I agreed with him.. This is how rational most of the PTI supporters are. I can still list down all the mistakes he has committed.. 10s of them.. but he doesn't deserve what is being done to him at the moment even if you combine all of his mistakes.. That's why despite 110% effort, the current regime couldn't find a single real case against him.
Zulm ke khilaaf awaz uthana bhi aik jihaad hai.. and I expect rational people like you to raise your voice for civil supremacy rather than bashing an already jailed guy and supporting the known pharaohs and crooks.
