Yes, in general that is true. International geopolitics keeps changing all the time. But please note that the underlying basic principles always remain same. Specifically, each state pursues its own national interests.
Now the question is if the US administration would start supporting IK? If the prevailing global geopolitics is any indication, the answer to this question is in negative.
Why would the US try to destabilize a government that it has supported so clearly and loudly? Why would it support an opportunist idiot who tried to stoke massive anti-America campaign in Pakistan for gaining some political mileage? Have Americans forgotten all those mischievous slogans of 'ham koi ghulam hain?', 'haqeeqi azaadi', and 'regime change' that PTI massively spread across the world?
Americans are working with Pakistan, probably for the first time, in a relationship that is based on trade rather than aid. Americans respect originality rather than cheating, lies, and deception. President Trump is an admirer of Field Marshal Asim Munir and has invited him to the White House multiple times.
Compare that with IK when he, as the PM, was dying for merely receiving a phone call from the White House that, BTW, he never got. The brainless coward Bajwa and evil genius Faiz Hameed could only fool Pakistanis. The outside world knew the real worth of this worthless gang of crooks.
