start.. low probability of culminating into a nationwide shutdown on 8th Feb.

I will wait and see. Who knows, this time it might happen?

News excerpts.. Also, a political thread, so a little margin is there

Of course. But I would take all such sources with a huge ladle of salt. The situation is not dire, and neither is it rosy, based upon more objective data, IMO. In other words, just the same mess it has always been.

He accused the coalition of corruption, being subservient to "handlers" (the military), and failing the nation economically.

But then again, he was guilty of all three accusations himself too, at some point or another. A classic case of the pot calling the kettle black IMO.

The electronic news media could then cover it to show/expose that.

The fake cheering crowds soundtrack was not really needed, was it? The poetry itself was quite rousing, for sure. But then again, all such slickly produced and promoted social media bites are not worth much in the real world unless translated into action results on the street, as always.

Right.
But is not that I object to Imran's hypocrisy and his lies. IMO, he and other major leaders, whether in the Uniforms or Not, are opportunists and liars. My major beef with Imran is, as I keep repeating, he is too arrogant and too stupid. I believe all other major political parties and the military have learned at least something from their own mistakes. Imran seems incapable of significant 'course correction'.

The Past is our teacher: Those who think that Imran is miraculously rise up from the ashes and fix everything are truly delusional: The guy gave a trailer of his governing style, his psyche, his mental capacities while he had probably the most favorably winds behind him during his role as the PM of Pakistan. I can't think of any other PM of Pakistan with such benefits with the possible exception of Zulfi Bhutto for a few years after the 1971 war against India.

And yet Imran squandered all that in a mere few years starting 2018...

1. Social media fans are not that tech savvy for editing. Also, they need to create hype. They are the salesmen.
2. It has many layers. A social/civil movement's purpose is to keep fighting for its rights. An additional political objective can be to be in power. Let's see which is PTI's priority

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership said the party will move toward dialogue with the government only after securing a “level playing field” through sustained street protests, rejecting the notion of entering talks from a position of weakness.

The stance was outlined by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja during a series of meetings in Lahore, where party leaders gathered to launch a fresh street movement on the directives of jailed party founder Imran Khan.

Speaking to journalists in Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority, Afridi said reconciliation without resistance is not an option. “We will be at a loss if we enter into dialogue without resistance,” he said. “The protest movement will continue until the rulers come to the table after recognising the opposition as an equal partner.”

Addressing criticism that repeated protests had failed to deliver tangible results, the chief minister said the party will avoid making tall claims and focus on “practical work” aimed at producing outcomes.

Raja echoed the position, saying no political party could afford to move into a “blind alley.” He accused the government of attempting to silence PTI on issues it considers fundamental, including alleged election irregularities, the continued incarceration of Imran Khan, and what the party calls institutional interference in politics and journalism.

Look at it this way: this is not a beef, but a "feature". If IK could learn a better strategy, he would make a far more formidable political opponent, increasing his chances of getting back into power and being an even bigger disaster a la mini-Trump.

I would just let him, and his followers be who they want to be. Why tell them anything better?

1. The type of followers who would be impressed by such shallow manufactured hype are guaranteed to be fools.

2. Let us see indeed:

"Responding to a question whether the party had perpetually been protesting without yielding any result, CM Afridi said, “This time, we will not make tall claims but do practical work and come up with a positive output.“

That almost reads like an admission of tall claims being made in the past, relying too much only on social media, and coming up with a negative output.

And to think that IK and the PTI core still seem inclined to repeat more of the same than not is not a good prospect, is it?

Of course it was an 'admission'; facts are out there for all. It is clear that repeated calls to 'March on Islamabad', repeated 'Final Calls', repeated 'Shahadat' (martyrdom) bombastic intentions have exhausted the PTI cadre. Note: These protests have been going on since early 2022!! In one year from 2022 into spring 2023 alone, Imran personally took part in 50+ public gatherings / protests, blaming America and the Pakistani Generals for his ouster. The psycho would either go into his comfortable makeshift 'container' or his cushy home at night while his workers would be rotting on the streets.
He has literally exhausted his options!!!

As you well know, my advice still would be to wait and see. :D
