PTI news, updates and discussions part ll

never say never in Pakistan.
Imran just needs to restrict his sisters movement and muzzle some idiots that seem to sabotage any progress in his release.

As long as IK has the Maula Jat attitude of "menoo bahar aan dey, phir tenu dassaan gaa!" he will be his own worst enemy is securing a rleease.

bro you are making up your own facts again. IK never said that, his real position was that he would forgive and forget what was done to him personally in order to move the country forward. But IMO the issue is that he cannot forgive the crimes committed against thousands of others like Arshad Sharif, Zille Shah and many politicians and workers who were killed through state terrorism. Even Dr Arif Alvi promised few days ago that IK will not seek revenge.

Has he ever made any such conciliatory remarks during his incarceration?

I'm not sure about that, but i also haven’t seen any remarks from him suggesting that he would seek revenge during his incarceration. Dr Arif Alvi is not an infant who would make promises on IK’s behalf without thinking. Mahmood Achakzai also said he was ready to provide gurantees that IK would not seek revenge after his release.

I'm not sure about that

He has not. He has been adamant about his position all along without any inclination to change, no matter what others may have promised from time to time. That remains his greatest problem keeping him in jail. 100%.

Achakzai and Arif Alvi are not kids making empty promises, they are ready to provide guarantees. But the main issue some people don’t want to admit is that if IK is released then the Form 47 government and its handlers will have to go home after free and fair elections...and why would they do that after securing lifelong immunity and stealing the mandate?

IK can help his release by saying himself openly what you think others are promising for him. He does not want to do that thus far.

might be true few years back but with all the recent development specially during Iran / USA conflict i beg to differ

Pushing 4 years since IK's ouster and having this new hybrid 2.0 (or 3.0) system. Where is the progress? What more authority and free hand do they need to 'fix' Pakistan?
Things going as per plan...if fixing Pakistan was a priority since the '53 martial law, it would have been done a long time ago...

I have a suspicion that its some of his own within his party that are posting these comments in his name while running the X/ Tiwtter accounts from US and Europe.
these people are blamed for sabotaging PTI/ Govt reconciliation.

Rest Allah Knows Best.

Perhaps, perhaps not.

But there here are certainly paid bots who are constantly fanning such flames across social media chambers of their choosing, including PDF, of course.

IK could have been released a long time ago if he really wanted to, but that would have meant compromising on his principles. At this point he understands that he is getting older and won’t live forever, so why would he ruin his legacy like Nawaz Sharif?

If that was the case then Bhutto wouldn’t have been hanged after the OIC summit, nor would IK be in jail after hosting one during his tenure. This dramabazi may look good on social media for chest thumping but it has nothing to do with ground reality. The masses only care about feeding their children and right now conditions are comparable to those in some African countries.

Of course. IK has the right to make his decisions, whatever he feels he must make. With that right come attached the consequences thereof, of course, and those are on him, too.

Contrary to this common perception amongst the "youth", Pakistan will not be "fixed" by one or two governments. It is a prolonged, sustained process which will include good, decent, and bad governance. There is no country that has only had sustained growth without any of the downsides.

The only difference is the timescale in which the development and advancement happens in various countries. Pakistan is on its own unique journey. Steps, missteps, falls, rise are all part of this journey.

And I support his stance. all major political parties have similar stance when in opposition.

in order to ensure a true freedom, we all must agree that we never ever take an offer that benefits us from likes of Gen Faiz, Gen Zia and Gen Ayub.

this selective democracy is biting us on the ass.

100% agree.

essentially the problem is of good governance.

If the military had provided good quality governance ie an average Pakistani has access quality education, health , housing, security and Justice .. there would be no problem

the problem is we never had good governance be it under civil or military rule.

We need to come up with a solution that works for Pakistan. democracy in piece meal is also no solution ie have election but feudal lords force you to vote their way.. as an example
