Ranked: The World’s Best Cities for Quality of Life in 2026

I know, I am biased but to me Greenville, South Carolina should be in the list: Four distinct seasons without the extremes, clean air and plenty of rain spread year around. I have never even seen a snow cleaning machine in my life though we do get 1-2 spells of snow on average each year. A great, beautiful downtown: Small and generally safe but feels cosmopolitan with people from all over America moved in. Many bars and restaurants within walkable distance. The mountains are not far and one could be 5000+ feet elevation in barely 60-90 minutes; even ski resorts not far and the beaches of South Carolina are 4 hour or less relatively easy drives. There is a relaxed vibe and women are beautiful--the Southern babes.

Sad emoji is for the memories, I still miss Greenville SC. And i would definitely say its one of the city i wanna move too, but there is still a lot of US that i haven't explored so I bet there are many cities that are good to live. As far as Southern babes are concerned, i think i had my fair share of southern babes for this life, now i don't even know what I want lol

No offence, but the US had way too many people to have beautiful cities. I have been living around the US (Midwest, East/West Coast), and I don't think any of them are untainted by the population

Moved to Australia; it's like the US but back in the 50s. Cities (except for Sydney and Melbourne) were untainted by people here, kangaroos walk amongst people,

And this happened in Casula 2 to 3 years ago, I live an hour drive from this place

And that's urban cities, think about rural like Western Australia

Bro I am from Karachi, Pakistan... too many people don't bother me haha plus the way i see USA besides the polarized politics is that US has so much to offer besides just economic opportunities, for someone like me who love to travel, road trips America has everything, all kinds of terrain to offer, from beautiful beaches in Florida to lush Forests of Tenneesse, to mountains of Colorado and Washington State, to Advance cities like Boston, to party lovers cities like Miami and LA. The possibilities are endless, so many cultures, colors, different languages, food.. Its just too much to not like, If everything remains good I have my next 5 years vacation planned and most of them are within USA.

I used to think like you, from the woods in Grand Teton to the Mountain of Zion, but then I discovered the world out there.

Apart from the parties, I enjoy the great outdoor, and it's basically 15 minutes walks from me and I lives in Sydney.......and you get beaches here you can only get in places like Hawaii

For me USA is still new experience, this is my 6th year in the states so I am still excited about living here, exploring new places and experience everything. I don't think I can live or Travel in Australia, given you guys have spiders as big as tennis balls and even bigger, venomous snakes, killer birds, crocs etc, and I know I live in Florida which basically mini jurrassic park but Australia is like Florida on steroids.

It wasn't that bad........... And those are hype or lies people fed......

I was told 2 things before I moved here: 1.) Everything here can and will kill you. 2.) Kangaroos are crazy. I have lived here for around 14 years now, and a spider or a snake has never bitten me; in fact, these things scare you more than you are scared of them. Sure, if you go looking for it like in Cairns or Townsville, sure, but then you are asking for it.

And I also had yet to fistfight a Kangaroo......lol

I once saw a Huntsman as big as my cat.

Dingos are overrated because of the Chamberlains; there are more dog bite here than dingos, and I don't know why Americans are afraid of Dingos when we had mountain lions back home........

I'm not necessarily afraid of dingos, but I have talked to several other Australians who say they're wild dogs essentially and not to be messed around with

They are wild dogs, and yes, you really shouldn't mess with dingos, but that probably goes for all the wildlife.

Living in Australia for a while, you will soon realise they have their life, and you have yours; they are just sharing the same space, same as you. If you don't mess with them, they won't mess with you. It's the same in the States; when I was living in Kansas, you see stag and deer often in the Midwest, and sometimes they come up to your house. It's the same here.
