Well they are trying to do that right now. You can't do much about naturalised citizens but they're indeed trying to limit immigration especially from races not their own. Even among whites you'll find them not being receptive to Ukrainian migrants for instance.

What happened in EU and the US was globalisation. They are hooked on to cheap labour and are trying to wean off it now.

Well this is in line with Western Jurisprudence (Peace of Westphalia). Modern nation states are a western concept. They'll have to change their own system to do that.

Post WW2 world order solidified it.

With times Humanity's values changes.

There's a piece of entertainment I watched an anime actually which had this line "As long as two humans exist on earth they will always fight". Can be on any ground per se. Only against another common enemy can we unite. For now we live under the concept of nation states, different ethnicities, religion and boundaries.

This idea has been tackled a lot in different pieces of media including the Matrix and Warhammer 40k.
