I can see every hail dent in this 2009 Police Interceptor from Oklahoma City.

One more ain't going to matter.

@Davey Crockett - you ever get this mushy hail?
It comes down as hail but is mushy like foam.
Last summer, here in Nowata, we had the worst locust outbreak in a hundred years.

We set record lows this winter.

Last two summers was bone dry. Local ranchers culled 90% of their herd.

But everything is A-okay.

Government checks are still rolling in....

Dust storms, we haven't had dust storms in awhile.

  • Buried farm machinery. Cimarron County, Oklahoma

In 1933, dust storms blew through Oklahoma as part of the Dust Bowl, a man-made ecological disaster that also affected the Texas Panhandle and other states. The storms turned fields into drifting sand, and covered roads, buildings, and farming machines with soil dunes.

What happened?
    • November 11, 1933: Storms drove exposed soil before them, turning fields into drifting sand.
    • April 14, 1935: The Black Sunday dust storm brought a wall of blowing sand and dust across Oklahoma, with winds of 40 MPH or more. In the panhandle, winds reached upwards of 60 MPH.
Effects
    • The Dust Bowl devastated the lives of residents in the affected states.
    • Thousands were driven from their homes.
    • Rural population declined, and urban population grew as some farm families moved to town in search of work.
Causes
The Dust Bowl was caused by a combination of: Severe dust storms, Years of drought, The Great Depression, Aggressive and poor farming techniques, and High winds.

Another word for a dust storm is “haboob,” which is Arabic for the word blown. Haboobs are giant walls of dust created from high winds rushing out of a collapsing thunderstorm.

Misplaced socialism - and FYI on the music - nothing like that to pop up anymore. Everything is to sound like Taylor Swift and Drake … why?
Algorithms - both for streaming services which will look at types and notes of music to suggest closer to whats popular and reject the rest and also because similar algorithms go for record executives - so swift clones and drake drones are all that gets published.

It’s a self deprecating whiteout - blandism of music thanks to - ironically - technology

Finding good music is getting harder each year. When I find something I like, post it here so I can find them, and enjoy them as I putter around the house.

Have to put up with awful music at work, the same shit every night. You may or may not have noticed, my music selections occur on Tuesday, the start of my weekend. Helps to clear out the dumb music still ringing in my head.

It's been a tough winter on older homes here in Oklahoma. Have a few projects in mind. Kitchen drain will be one of them. I think the extreme cold cracked open the drain pipe that was installed last year, put in by a handyman on the cheap.

When weather gets better, thinking of re doing it myself.

To keep my rent down, I do nearly all the repairs on the place. And make improvements. It's what I do for fun.
