The Indian company Tata Advanced Systems has completed the administrative procedures necessary to establish a factory dedicated to the production of military vehicles in Morocco, Rue20 newspaper reported.

Tata Advanced Systems has already sent 90 6x6 vehicles to the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) to transport equipment, ammunition and troops.

Morocco signed an agreement with Indian companies more than a year ago to build military vehicles to supply the Moroccan army. According to Mohsen Al-Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, this cooperation includes joint production in Morocco to meet local demand, as well as expansion into African and European markets, according to what the Moroccan newspaper reported.

To achieve these goals, a new entity has been created, a joint venture called Tata Advanced Systems Maroc Construction, which will focus on the construction, development, production and integration of military vehicles in Morocco.

This new development represents an important step in Morocco's plans to become a regional center for the production of military vehicles, as well as the growing strategic partnership between Morocco and India in the defense sector.

The annual rate of Indian exports to Morocco has increased by 13.1% over the past 26 years. For its part, Morocco exported goods worth $2.1 billion to India, including products such as phosphoric acid, mineral fertilizers or mixed chemicals, and calcium phosphate.

The Royal Armed Forces announced that within the framework of joint military cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America, the city of Marrakech hosted from 17 to 21 February 2025 the annual meeting to review the management of security and financial assistance (SAMR/FMR).

The meeting was attended by 28 representatives from the United States of America from various bodies concerned with military cooperation programs between the two countries, in addition to representatives of the National Defense Department, the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces, and the Royal Gendarmerie.

This meeting is an opportunity to review the financial situation of foreign military sales contracts (FMS) and the main programs that are in the preparation or implementation phase, as well as taking the necessary measures to improve the management of these programs.

This event also constituted an additional step towards strengthening military cooperation between Morocco and the United States, which reflects the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.

Kingdom of Morocco – FIM-92K Stinger Block I Missiles​


WASHINGTON, April 15, 2025 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Kingdom of Morocco of FIM-92K Stinger Block I missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $825 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Kingdom of Morocco has requested to buy up to six hundred (600) FIM-92K Stinger Block I missiles. The following non-MDE items will also be included: U.S. Government and contractor engineering, logistics, and technical support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $825 million.
