GAC Motor company has certified in Russia a new compact crossover GAC GS3. This is reported by Telegram-channel of portal "Chinese cars", according to which, the start of sales of the novelty may take place before the end of May. Compact crossover GAC GS3 has the following dimensions: 4410 mm in length, 1825 mm in width and 1685 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2650 mm.
As in China, in our market the model will be available with a 1.5-litre turbo engine with an output of 177 hp (270 Nm), which works in combination with a 7-speed "robot" with a double "wet" clutch. Drive in the crossover is exclusively front-wheel drive. As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", the company GAC Motor plans to sell 30 thousand cars in Russia in 2024 and to bring to the market another new model - crossover GS4 Max.
Recall that currently GAC model range is represented in our country by GS5 and GS8 crossovers of the new generation, as well as a premium minivan GAC M8.

Authorities of Novosibirsk region will allocate a plot of land for the construction of a truck production facility by the end of 2024. Vitaly Shovtak, Acting Minister of Economic Development of the region, told the TASS agency, adding that the total investment in the creation of production will be 19.9 billion rubles. The initiator of investment project "Novosibirsk Cargo Transport Auto Plant" is the company "Trade".
According to plans, the plant will produce a wide range of trucks from 2 to 15 tonnes. The launch of the first model - a five-tonne truck - is scheduled for 2027. At the first stage, assembly from domestic and foreign components is planned. It is envisaged to set up workshops for the production of frames, cabins and an assembly shop.
At the second stage, the production line will be expanded, and new shops will appear on the territory of the company for the production of its own components. The company has received a permit to produce a series of cars of more than 500 vehicles per year. When reaching the design capacity, the plant will employ more than 2 thousand people. According to "AUTOSTAT" agency, as of January 1, 2024 in our country there were 205 thousand trucks of Chinese brands, which is 5.7% of the total number. Experts of agency note that in the structure of truck fleet "Chinese" have already surpassed "Japanese" and "Germans" (199 thousand and 197 thousand respectively).
And given their current sales volumes, by the end of the year they will overtake not only the Swedes (217 thousand vehicles), but even the Belarusians (251 thousand vehicles). Thus, only unattainable domestic brands (2.24 million vehicles) will be higher than Chinese brands. Among Chinese trucks, the most common brand in Russia is Shacman, which accounts for 28%. In quantitative terms, this amounts to 57.3 thousand vehicles.
The second place in this rating is occupied by FAW (30.6 thousand vehicles), which owns 15% of all trucks from China. Howo and SITRAK have approximately equal figures (28.3 thousand and 27.6 thousand vehicles, respectively). Foton (23 thousand vehicles) also crosses the 10% mark.

Only pickup trucks based on Niva and Granta models can be an exception, but unlike them Largus has an all-metal van. Therefore, there will be a high demand for it on the part of small and medium-sized businesses. This car will occupy its niche, as before - within a year in the amount of 12-15% of the total sales volume of LADA.

AVTOVAZ ANNOUNCES INCREASE IN PRICES FOR MOST LADA MODELS
AvtoVAZ has increased the recommended retail prices for all Lada models, except for the Vesta family. The cost of cars, depending on the model and version, increased by 51.1-71.1 thousand rubles. This mass appreciation of Lada cars was the first since November 2023, Kommersant reports with reference to the official price lists of the company.
The company kept the price of the basic Lada Granta version at around 699.9 thousand rubles, as promised by the AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov, who explained the price indexation by inflation. The price of the liftback also remained unchanged – 739.9 thousand rubles.
Lada Niva Legend SUV has appreciated by 51.1 thousand rubles – now its price starts from 881 thousand rubles. At the same time, prices of five brands have increased, and two - decreased. Domestic AVTOVAZ has increased the cost of cars of LADA Granta (except Standard version) and Niva families.
The increase in price made from 51,100 to 71,100 rubles, which is equivalent to 3.3 - 7.0%. In turn, UAZ model range went up in price by the amount from 35,000 to 60,000 rubles (plus 2.0 - 3.6%). Another Russian manufacturer - Sollers - has raised prices by 50,000 rubles for almost all versions of Atlant and Argo vehicles (plus 1.3 - 1.9%).
Atlant bus, on the contrary, became cheaper by 224,000 rubles (-5.2%). Some Chinese brands also increased their prices. Thus, Chery Tiggo 7 PRO Max crossover became more expensive by 10,000 – 70,000 Rubles, which is from 0.3% to 2.5%. And JAECOO brand J7 crossover in front-wheel drive version has added 100,000 rubles in price (plus 3.0 - 3.3%). In the first half of May, the cheapening affected only two models.
If the cost of crossover Geely Monjaro decreased by the amount from 250,000 to 400,000 rubles (minus 5.0 - 9.6%), the electric crossover Skywell ET5 in the Luxury configuration fell in price by 100,000 rubles (-1.8%).

Avtozapchast KAMAZ, the official representative of KAMAZ in the Russian market, has announced a recall of 23432 KAMAZ vehicles of various models sold from 1 July 2022 to 1 August 2023. The reason for the recall: the lack of a device for calling emergency services (EVEOS), the press service of Rosstandart reports. All vehicles will be retrofitted with the planned EVEOS.
All works within the framework of this campaign will be free of charge for vehicle owners. As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", in the fourth quarter of 2024 KAMAZ plans to increase the production of trucks to 220 vehicles per day, and in 2025 the daily production rate may increase to 240 vehicles. According to Anton Saraikin, Director of KAMAZ Automobile Plant, the main assembly line can already maintain a stable rate of 200 - 210 vehicles per day if properly supplied.
According to the company's business plan, in 2024 the production of K5 generation vehicles will be significantly increased. During the year, new models of K5 generation heavy-duty truck family will be gradually introduced: the three-axle 6595, 65952 and four-axle 65951.

The plant "LADA Izhevsk" in autumn of this year will start production of seven-seat station wagons LADA Largus in Comfort configuration, as well as Cross-versions of the model with increased ground clearance. Oleg Grunenkov, director of product programs and projects of AVTOVAZ, informed Izvestia newspaper about it.
According to him, at the start of sales LADA Largus will be available in four versions. For the station wagon it is a basic Classic configuration with 8-valve engine 1.6 litres, Classic with an additional package in the form of cast wheels and decor, version with 16-valve engine, and for the van - Classic configuration with 8-valve engine 1.6 litres.
All versions of LADA Largus are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The standard equipment of the model includes driver airbags, ABS system, power windows, etc. As Oleg Grunenkov noted, this equipment allows to meet the market requirements for safety and quality. On the threshold of summer sales AVTOVAZ decided to include air conditioning in the basic version. The ESP stabilization system is absent for today - it will be introduced if it will be required by the legislation. It is not planned to equip LADA Largus with a 1.8-litre engine and 6-speed transmission.
In 2025, AVTOVAZ intends to introduce a gas version of Largus. The start of sales of LADA Largus family will be announced in the coming weeks, the recommended retail price of the car will be from 1 million 660 thousand rubles for the passenger version and 1 million 670 thousand rubles for the commercial van. It is proposed to index the utilization fee from 2024 to 2030 inclusively, as its sharp increase may create problems for Russian enterprises.

Already this year the payment for cars with internal combustion engines may be raised from 300.6 thousand to 556.1 thousand Rubles. By 2030, utilization fee for them will be 1.17 million. According to Nikolay Ivanov, Director of New Car Sales Department of ROLF, this measure will not contribute in any way to the protection of the domestic manufacturer, because the model lines and customer expectations from the car are completely different. Another indexation of the salvage tax will not encourage Chinese brands to set up production and deepen localization in Russia.
In order to start production of cars, the plant must understand volumes. The break-even point in this case is the production of 100 thousand cars and more. If the utilization fee is raised, the market will start to roll back, so there will be no guarantees for such a volume. This may even become a stop factor in making a decision on local assembly.

AVTOVAZ prepares for production growth​

AVTOVAZ summed up the results of a large-scale campaign on renovation, preparation for the production of new LADA models and increase in production capacity, which was carried out during a single corporate holiday of the enterprise from 28 April to 12 May 2024. Thus, in order to increase the productivity of the assembly line of LADA Niva family cars up to 50 units per hour, work was carried out in the production of chassis, engines, forging, aluminum casting, according to the press service of AVTOVAZ.
To ensure a high level of quality of LADA Vesta and LADA Aura cars, a scheduled replacement of cataphoresis primer in baths on the body painting line was carried out. LADA Granta (and from the beginning of 2025 - LADA Iskra) painting and assembly lines were modernized, in particular, the robots applying adhesive to the windscreen and rear window were moved, the height marks on the conveyor route of the painted body supply were changed, the final test stands were modernized. Work continued on transferring the production of PSA VIS-AVTO vehicles to the territory of the AVTOVAZ pilot production facility (PPF), which will allow to significantly optimize the production of commercial and special models. During the corporate holiday in the completely renewed shops of the pilot production facility the work on adjustment of welding and assembly technologies was carried out.
According to AVTOVAZ President Maxim Sokolov, the company continues to fulfil the 2024 production plan approved by the Board of Directors. In the first quarter of 2024, car production in Togliatti increased by more than 70% and totaled almost 116 thousand cars. AVTOVAZ's investment program for 2024 will exceed 40 billion rubles. According to the company's development strategy until 2030, it is planned to maintain the leading position of LADA in the Russian automotive market. This will be facilitated, among other things, by the production of 12 new models in various segments, as well as the development of partnership projects.
Thus, in May 2024, LADA-Izhevsk plant started production of LADA Largus family with internal combustion engine, and the production of LADA e-Largus electric car is scheduled to start in the third quarter. In autumn the production of business class sedan LADA Aura will start. At the same time, work will continue on new models, including LADA Iskra, the start of production of which at the plant in Togliatti is scheduled for the beginning of 2025. The new family will be produced in three body variants: sedan, station wagon and cross-universal.
At the same time, LADA Iskra will be presented on the market in parallel with a more compact and budget LADA Granta and will eventually completely replace this model in the line-up of AVTOVAZ: the production of LADA Granta is planned to be completed by 2027. In addition, the debut of a crossover on the LADA Vesta platform is scheduled for early 2026.

Modern Transport Technologies Group, the largest trading house of Russian commercial and passenger vehicles, presents a modern modification of the reanimation ambulance vehicle based on Gazelle NN at the All–Russian Forum "Health of the Nation - the Basis of Russia's Prosperity". The event takes place on May 15-17, 2024 in Moscow.
The reanimation ambulance vehicle based on Gazelle NN is designed on the basis of a long-wheelbase chassis with a more spacious body and is suitable for transporting patients over long distances. The selection of furniture, the placement of racks, seats and the location of equipment allowed to increase the work area and provide convenience for the work of medical personnel, including during resuscitation operations on the way.
The single-wheel rear axle contributes to an additional expansion of the free internal space due to more compact wheel arches, and the cabin height allows medical personnel to work standing up. To increase the ride comfort, reduce rocking on uneven roads and the ability to reduce the body height when loading stretchers, a pneumatic rear suspension is installed on the vehicle.
