The special equipment plant "Caterpillar Tosno" in the Leningrad region, which previously belonged to the American company Caterpillar, has been renamed into LLC "Tosno". The corresponding changes have been made in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, writes the Interfax news agency. Russian assets of Caterpillar - including a special equipment plant and Moscow leasing subsidiary (Caterpillar Financial LLC) - were transferred to Russian company controlled by the Balchug Capital fund of Armenian businessman David Amaryan.
According to the information of Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the transaction was closed by June 14, when control over two Russian subsidiaries of Caterpillar was transferred to the Moscow-based Investment Solutions LLC (formerly PSK - New Solutions), registered in August 2022. The main owner of this company since the beginning of June is CJSC Baltschug Capital (99%), the remaining 1% stake is held by Artem Orus (1%). Earlier in June, he replaced Kirill Polishkin as CEO of Investment Solutions LLC. The transfer of Caterpillar assets to a Russian investor at the end of 2023 was approved by President Vladimir Putin.
Recall, Caterpillar in March 2022 announced the suspension of the plant in Tosno, Leningrad region due to sanctions and logistical failures after the start of the special military opearion. Tosno facility had been operating since 2000, producing CAT-branded off-road mining dump trucks and hydraulic excavators, as well as components for machinery and equipment, which the company exported to its European plants. The plant's workshops are equipped with state-of-the-art metal pre-treatment equipment, universal machining centers providing a full cycle of parts manufacturing.

Experts of analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to find out what new passenger cars can be bought in Russia for price less than 2 million rubles. It turned out that all LADA cars are within this category. LADA Granta turned out to be the most low-cost model. In June, the minimum recommended retail price* for "Granta" amounted to 699 thousand Rubles. Also, LADA Largus, LADA Niva Legend and LADA Niva Travel are offered for less than 2 million Rubles as the recommended price. LADA Vesta is also available up to 2 million Rubles, but not in all configurations. The price range of the top versions of the model reached 2.4 million Rubles in June.

The experts also note that for the last four months more than 2 thousand new pickup trucks are sold in the country every month. In the brand rating of June 2024, Chinese Great Wall is leading with a large gap from other brands, which accounted for almost a quarter of the entire market of new pickup trucks (23.4%). In quantitative terms, this amounts to 518 vehicles. In the second position is another Chinese manufacturer - JAC (389 vehicles), which displaced the domestic UAZ to the third place with the result of 347 sold vehicles. Domestic Sollers and Chinese Changan with comparable results (259 and 254 vehicles, respectively) are also in the top-5.
Great Wall Poer (376 vehicles) tops the model ranking, followed by UAZ "Pickup" (347 vehicles). Sollers ST6 is also in the top three, the June figure of which amounted to 259 vehicles. In total, 12,260 new pickup trucks were sold in Russia in the first half of 2024. This is 85% more than in January-June 2023.

Moskvich 6 liftback in gas-powered version was presented​

RariTEK Holding Company has presented a gas-powered version of Moskvich 6 liftback. Within the framework of the recently signed agreement with Ministry of Industry and Trade of Republic of Tatarstan and Moskvich automobile plant, the production of gas-engine versions of Moskvich 3 crossover and Moskvich 6 liftback will soon be organized at RariTEK's enterprise in Naberezhnye Chelny. New versions of these cars are ready to enter the market, the press service of the company reports.
As Ramil Ishmaev, Commercial Director of RariTEK Engineering LLC, said earlier, the RariTEK enterprise plans to start commercial production of Moskvich cars on NGV fuel in August and to produce more than 1 thousand of such cars by the end of the year. At the same time, the holding's capacity allows producing up to 4 thousand NGV cars annually and may be increased in the future. According to him, the gas version of "Moskvich" will be approximately 120 - 130 thousand rubles more expensive than the usual one.
Moskvich 3 crossover and Moskvich 6 liftback in the NGV version are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 136 hp and CVT automatic transmission. The cars are able to drive exclusively on natural gas up to 250 kilometers on a single refueling. The consumption of natural gas is 7 cubic meters per 100 km on a mixed cycle. At the same time, the total range on gasoline and natural gas reaches about 900 km. The CNG tank capacity is 67 liters.
