Kaliningrad plant Avtotor produced 38 thousand cars in 2023. This was reported to the agency AUTOSTAT in the press service of the enterprise, adding that the forecast of 50 - 70 thousand cars announced at the beginning of last year was adjusted under the influence of market fluctuations. "In 2023, Avtotor enterprises mastered the production of 17 models of passenger cars and commercial vehicles of 5 new brands. In 2024, the model range will increase significantly.
It is planned to launch the production of new car models with both existing and new partners," - said in the press service of the company. Let us remind you that last year Avtotor started cooperation with three Chinese passenger car manufacturers: Kaiyi (E5 sedan, Kaiyi X3 and X3 Pro crossovers, as well as X7 Kunlun), BAIC (U5 Plus sedan, X35, X55 and X7 crossovers, as well as BJ40 SUV), SWM (G01, G01F and G05 Pro crossovers).
In addition, Kaliningrad plant in cooperation with Chinese company Foton started assembly of commercial electric vehicles, which are produced under Brock brand. Also, on the assembly line of the plant started production of commercial models of JMC: Carrying and Conquer trucks, as well as Vigus pickup truck. As previously reported by AUTOSTAT, Motorinvest, the official distributor of Dongfeng passenger cars in Russia, and Avtotor signed an agreement on production of the first batch of Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK) cars at the plant in Kaliningrad.
Under the agreement, Avtotor will produce a batch of DFSK cars ordered by Motorinvest, which will be represented by two models: DFSK ix5 coupe-crossover and DFSK ix7 seven-seat all-wheel drive crossover. The models will complete the line-up of the DFSK family of cars on the Russian market, which is currently represented by a seven-seat crossover DFSK 580.
