AVTOVAZ has disclosed the release dates of new models
According to the company's development strategy until 2030, AVTOVAZ plans to release 12 new models in various segments, as well as the development of partnership projects. As follows from the presentation of AVTOVAZ, already in the first quarter of 2024 the flagship LADA Vesta NG will receive a new power unit 1.8 EVO in conjunction with a variator, and in the middle of the year for the model will again be available electronic stability control (ESC).
In May at the plant "LADA-Izhevsk" it is planned to launch serial production of electric car LADA e-Largus together with resumption of production of standard LADA Largus with internal combustion engine. The production of the business class sedan LADA Aura is scheduled to be launched in September. By the end of the year the LADA Niva Sport SUV is expected to appear. In addition, in 2025 AVTOVAZ will expand the engine range of the family of SUVs LADA Niva Travel and Niva Legend due to a more powerful 1.8 litre engine. Also in 2024, AVTOVAZ plans to introduce a new brand to the Russian market, which will be represented by two licensed models in the C/D segments.
Details about them are not officially disclosed, but, apparently, the production of novelties will be established at the AVTOVAZ site in St. Petersburg. According to unofficial data, the first on the assembly line of the enterprise will stand crossover, and it can happen already during 2024. The second model, the production of which is expected next year, is designated in the presentation of AVTOVAZ as "non-SUV" and has the outline of a sedan. At the same time, work will continue on new models, including the LADA Iskra, the start of production of which at the plant in Togliatti is scheduled for early 2025. The new family will be produced in three body variants: sedan, station wagon and cross-universal.
At the same time, LADA Iskra will be presented on the market in parallel with a more compact and low-cost LADA Granta and will eventually completely replace this model in the line-up of AVTOVAZ: the production of LADA Granta is planned to be completed by 2027. In addition, the debut of a crossover on the LADA Vesta platform is scheduled for 2026. As the president of AVTOVAZ Maxim Sokolov told the agency "AUTOSTAT", the approved production plan of AVTOVAZ for 2024 assumes the increase of car production by 33% up to 500 thousand vehicles.
It is planned to sell about 450 thousand LADA cars on the Russian market, moreover, the company expects to supply more than 100 thousand cars out of this number under the state order.
