A schedule of localization of auto electronics will be formed for Chinese car manufacturers that have organized or plan to organize production in Russia. The corresponding decision was made during the governmental meeting devoted to the prospects of localization of auto electronics of Chinese car brands in Russia, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reports. According to Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the conditions for localization are fixed in special investment contracts, which are concluded by Chinese brands locally producing or planning to produce their cars in Russia.
As Vasily Shpak reported earlier, deep localization of electronic automotive components is planned to start in Russia in 2024-2025. According to him, the process of getting to the assembly lines of carmakers for new electronic components as part of electronic units takes in average 2 - 3 years.
