Russia-Ukraine War - News, Discussions & Updates

Lets look at the objectives of both sides:

Ukraine: Get back lost territory from Russia, Join Nato, EU.

Russia: Initially was regime change, but then as war raged on to take the dombas, control the black sea and prevent Ukraine from joining Nato.

Now tell me which countries objectives are being met? its definitely not Ukraines.

Russia holds 20% of Ukraine, there is no Nato membership for Ukraine, Council of foreign relations are themselves saying Ukraine is losing, the narrative has changed. Putin wont stop the war until Ukraine completely surrenders or there is Guarantee's Ukraine must stay neutral. If that happens then from that perspective Russia achieves its goals.

False, Ukraine doesn’t need to join NATO to be a de facto Western aligned state. Just like how Taiwan doesn’t need to declare independence to be a de facto independent state. Ukraine remains independent its western aligned government stands.

Control the Black Sea? You realize Russia has lost the Black Sea battle right? The Russian Navy doesn’t even patrol the central and Western Black Sea anymore.

The goal was to join Nato, not just be a western aligned state. The control of the black sea isnt in either states hand right now, but Russia has the upper hand overall.

False, at the outset of the War, Ukraines goal was to survive. It’s done that about as well as it possibly can considering the circumstances faced.

Sure, as the war progressed joining NATO became a goal, but it doesn’t need to be a member of NATO to be Western aligned, conduct trade deals with the West, recieve arms from the West, and host military forces from the West. Even if NATO is not an option, it’s a de facto Western aligned/NATO state.

As for the Black Sea, Russia does not have the upper hand, and as it stands today the Russian Black Sea Fleet has lost. What remains of the Fleet is docked in the East and they don’t patrol anywhere near Crimea or Ukraine anymore.

Total cope

Russia is definitely not “fine”. Assaults using civilian vehicles, motorcycles, and dune buggies says otherwise.

The Russian Army has been pulverized. No question about it.

Ukraine will now be permanently aligned with the West.

Russia has lost
Today's Russian Army is a disgrace compared to the 1944 Red Army. The only thing that really hasn't changed is their tactics and animal behavior. Sure, they are making slow, incremental gains. And are paying for it heavily in losses.

The Ukes haven't forgotten what the Russians did when the region was recaptured from the Germans.

As soon as their is a ceasefire, Russia will start building up naval assets in the black sea and will ensure that neither NATO nor Ukraine has naval assets of note anywhere near it

Let me understand your statement. Modern Russian Army is a disgrace compared with those fallen in 44. But actually they re making incremental gains like Russians in 44. Moreover Trump said he would fire out of the NATO all countries under 5% of GDP military expending.

If Russia is not winning the war, why we should spend money in arms?.

Who is lying to us?.

Footage of the attack of Russian modified FPV drones VT-40 Sudoplatov, controlled via fiber optic cable, on the Ukrainian IFV AIFV-B-C25. The AIFV-B-C25 infantry fighting vehicle is based on the M113A1 armored personnel carrier. The AIFV-B-C25 IFV was produced in Belgium, developed in 1979. One of the armament options of the AIFV-B-C25 IFV is a 25-mm Oerlikon KBA cannon paired with a 7.62-mm FN MAG machine gun. These IFVs were previously used by the Ukrainian 15th Mechanized Brigade "Steel Cordon". The Ukrainian IFVs were hidden in a hangar in the village of Kolodeznoye, in the Kupyansk direction. A Ukrainian armored car Roshel Senator was also stored there, they are produced in Canada. Judging by the video, all the equipment was destroyed by drones.

If the Russian Army is so powerful, why are they about to begin Year 4 of the "3 Day Special Military Operation"?

They outnumber and have more equipment than the Ukes yet have significantly more casualties for what little ground they've gained. How may casualties are they incurring for every yard gained? This is a numbers game and like any numbers game, they have more than the Ukes.

If their equipment is so good, why are they having to pull mothballed equipment out of storage depots for use?

Infantry tactics? What a horrible waste of men. They are too dumb to spread out and are being defeated by drones armed with grenades.

Riding motorcycles and ATVs into battle?

Now deploying North Koreans who themselves are finding 1950 style human wave tactics without proper air and artillery support doesn't work.

My other circles have access to plenty of OSINT and from what we're seeing, the Russian Army has not improved since its days in Afghanistan.

If the objective is to bleed Ukraine dry, they may succeed. But a lot more Russians are going to die before that happens.

Color me "not impressed" with Putin.
