Realistically, Russia is a Chinese puppet state and protectorate. Ukraine is not a real big threat to Russia but Russians vow to retake Taurida and Donba areas which they consider historically Russian land stolen by Ukraine. It is a decades old territorial dispute.

Starting this year there is no American support (blocked by GOP) and no EU support (blocked by Hungary). Meanwhile, Russia is doubling defense spending. And Russian economy has recovered from Western sanction because of Chinese support.
This year will be very bloody year for Ukrainian army troops. I wouldn't be surprised if Avdiivka and Ugledar fall this year. And we are only on year 3 of a 500 years war.

100,000 men need 400,000 kg foods per day. Without foods they would not survive long in trenches more than a week.
Then they need 2 million ton fuels per day. Then tons of other stuffs like medicine, ammunition, other fuels.
So now you multiply with 7.
That’s a gigantic materials the russians need to transport to the fronts. Per day.
The issue is the west still refuses to supply Ukraine long range precision artillery.
If Ukraine has the weapons, then even Putin pours in 1.5 million men (as he plans it) into Ukraine those russians won’t survive.

If Ukrainian army wins then China enters the war and pushes Ukrainian army back. Rebels had Assad on the ropes in 2015 then boom Russia entered the war and rebels faltered.
Ukrainian army can beat Russian army but no way Ukrainian army can beat Chinese army. Ukraine population 31 million. China population 1,400 million. 45 times.

Why would China enter others people wars? That’s complete shit. Chinese go to war if they are attacked or if either Vietnam or Korea is involved. Otherwise they don’t care.

China maximum will supply weapons or money to Russia.
China will only involve directly if their Sovereignty is in danger.
This was the reason China was involved in Korea war and also Vietnam war, when US entered in those countries.
If we look in world map, and current US trade war with China, it seems US will try to enter via India. Only Indian border seems risky for China.
