Russia-Ukraine War - News, Discussions & Updates

You missing the big picture. The Donbas front is 1,000km long, 200km in depth.
The distance Kiev-Moscow is 900km. That’s even shorter.
If Ukraine can hold the Donbas front then it certainly can continue the war on russian mainland. The aim of Ukraine is to bring the war to Russia. Now Putin gets what he sows.
Anyway the world has forgotten this war. That’s just another war of many wars in the world. The war of Israel is more important than this war.
There is an intelligence report circulating intelligence community saying Ukrainian is doing something big in the next 3 weeks time. Likely to be another axis of advance into Russian territories

The issue here is, what Ukrainian doing is to split the combat support element of Russian military. It was reported that Russian Airstrike into Ukraine is decreased by 40-50%. And they are basically forcing the Russian to bomb their own territories in order to regain the momentum.....

Russia has not moved any military unit from Donbas to Kursk. If Ukraine wanted to lure Russian forces from Donbas to Kursk to relieve pressure on the Donbas front, they failed to do so. What happened is that the Ukrainians are the ones who dragged themselves into unnecessary fighting and sacrifices that will not restore their land.

2.5 years into Russia's 3-day campaign in Ukraine, we are now seeing Russian soldiers surrendering on Russian soil.

No, they wanted to move Russian combat support unit to Kursk. Between GRU National Guard and Conscript (Russia had around 200k conscript they can't use in Ukraine), they have enough manpower to deal with the Ukrainian in Kursk, it was never drawing people off.

Fighter and Artillery cover tho, is an issue, Russia move an entire fighterwing to support Kursk and from most footage we sees 2S19 and D-20 moving toward Kursk.

Basically the Ukrainian is daring the Russia to bomb their own soil to get rid of them. It's now up to Russia to turn Sudzha to Bahkmut or Avdiivka, since that's the only way they show they can get rid of the Ukrainian with....Either that or they are setting a set piece to fight the Ukrainian with Urban Warfare

Brother, reliable sources indicate that Russian military operations in the Donbas region are facing significant challenges. Overall movements have slowed down significantly, according to credible reports available on social media.

The Ukrainian offensive has a strategic aim most definitely, but only time will reveal its ultimate success. There's a chance that the entire operation could harm Ukraine in the long term but at this point all our statements and comments are just conjecture.

Nonetheless, the impact of Ukrainian advances into Russian territory should not be overlooked, as it is inflicting considerable damage to Russia's image. The situation has turned into a source of embarrassment for Russia.

This is a fact.

I think the irony of the Ukrainian is basically force the Russian to bomb their own soil like they did with the Ukrainian had not lost on me.

Watched an interview this morning on someone from the 22nd Brigade, he said "They are going to come to us in the south anyway, why not let them fight in their own soil so they can level their own town"

Joke of the day

General Gerasimov - Comrade President, do we need a new front fighting the Ukrainian?

Putin - Of course, the more the better, which way we are attacking this time? Zaporizhya? Kherson? or have another go at Kyiv?

General Gerasimov - Comrade President, I have great news to report, we are successfully opened a new front, we are now fighting the Ukrainian at Kursk

Putin - Great Job. That's Good, is it in the Northern Ukraine...............Wait, weren't Kursk's our territories?

Russia did move a few units from Battlegroup North to the Kursk area, but mostly reserves that haven't been deployed to other fronts. They didn't move a single soldier from Battlegroups South, East, West, Centre, or Dpir. So, if the plan was to get Russia to reallocate troops from these 5 other points of contact it didn't work.

I think that people are forgetting that Russian law prevents many conscripts from being used in the SMO because it is outside Russian territory, but this incursion is inside Russian territory which means those troops that were once unavailable are now free to be used and bolster existing forces.

Brother I do agree we are getting a lot of fog war to get an accurate Picture.

It is actually the Ukrainians that pulled troops from the Donbas region for this. So if the goal was to force the Russians to divert , it has fail.

People here do not understand brother Donbas is far away from Kursk. Days are needed , even weeks to transfer heavy equipment from one front to the either. Don’t think this was Ukraine goal in this operation.

Ukrainian Brigade in Kursk is also far away from their supply lines.

So Basically it is like they are not going back

They are there to kill and die
