Notice how none of the Ukrainian drones targeted military targets. Such an important attack that will only incur a more devastating Russian response.

He took Crimea without any or little resistance from Ukraine and the west. That’s why he believed he could do the same.

None of this would be happening if the US/ NATO didn't consistantly violate the Minsk Agreement. Needless waste of life, time and resources. The MIC is happy though, so there's that.

Russia isn't particularly interested in pushing the Ukrainian troops out of Kursk at the moment. They have these troops bogged down there in the middle of nowhere preventing them reinforcing any of the critical frontlines. Ukraine is forced to spend money, equipment, medical personnel, and engineers to carry out repairs etc; personnel and equipment that are urgently needed on the actual frontlines. Meanwhile, Russia is destroying those same forces in Kursk while rapidly advancing on the real frontlines.
