Why don't you ask what Russian is dying for? Ukraine wasn't for Russia and NEVER want to be in Russia, that much is true with all the fighting and killing around, at least the Ukrainian know they are dying for their own land, so what exactly the Russian is dying for?

Trump can call Zelenskyy whatever.

FACT to the matter is, US have not been supporting Ukraine since April last year when the last bill pass, what can US do to make the sitaution worse, unless Trump want to invade Ukraine himself, which he has no authority to do so, this is not going to change. Trump said a lot of thing but do only a little remember?

And if Russia want to take those land and is capable of, they would have gone and done it already, they are not pretending they aren't able to make progress in Ukraine, nobody wants to be appeared incompetent, not at least the quote "Second Biggest Army in the world" End Quote.

As I said, even if Trump some how force Ukraine to talk to Russia, what Russia had can make Ukraine consede their demand? They are definitely not going to drop their NATO bid just because Russia is holding 20% of Ukraine, they can't even ask for the entire donbas in this case, so again, what can they talk about?

Russia is holding all the cards now, there will be peace on their terms, not Zelenskyy and certainly not Trump. Ukrainian isn’t going to join NATO, Hungarian president has already said as long as Russia or Ukraine are enemies he will not accept Ukraine into NATO. And Turkey will probably do the same.

That goes back to some news I read a couple of weeks ago, Zelenskyy seems okay for Ukraine to go Nuclear if NATO bid felt thru. Bear in mind they already had the know how with previously being a nuclear country. I honestly don't see how they will fail to become a nuclear state if some country is willing to supply Uranium or Plutonium

Yet Ukraine was encouraged to give theirs up in exchange for:

1. guarantee of sovereignty
2. security guarantees

Neither happened. And now, they are going to left hanging in the wind again.

The US and Ukraine will soon finalize a minerals deal

That is the exact reason why EU is more inclined to send money and equipment to Ukraine than having to face Russia themselves.

EU military power does not actually exist, and they probably had realise it by now when US is wavering with NATO responsibility. Meaning they will have to change their concept of peace in Europe and factor out American involvement as you cannot depends on a good day when US elected a pro-EU president everytime to come to your rescue. That mean the entire European Defence Network has to change, and they can't change in the next 5 to 10 years

Which mean the only way they can actually deal with any threat from Russia now is to basically help Ukraine to deal with them, because when Russia is in Ukraine they can't be at anywhere else, the Russian won't have the power to do anything else when everything got blogged down in Ukraine, they will need to support Ukraine to keep the threat at least temporary out of Mainland Europe before they can have the capability to do anything.

Russia only wants Ukraine, i highly doubt they will dare to attack EU or any Nato countries, even if Usa withraws. Russia is not that powerful but Ukraine is their backyard. The west makes up the Russian threat for political gains. Donald Trump knows Russia is not theat, this is why he had enough of this war and bringing Russia to its knees by surrounding it with nukes.

There's no way Ukraine or any country in the world can get the Donbas lithium by war. Russia ain't that easy to beat. In the 1850s not even the UK + France could beat Russia in Crimea.

This war now is a draw, and in the near and clear present future, it would still be a draw, unless something drastic happen, it will not change the needle anywhere.

It didn't matter if Russia "seize" any territories they aimed for, there were NEVER any strategic and military control of Ukraine for Russia, for that, they either need a Pro-Russian Ukrainian administation or they have to conquer Kyiv. Both of them aren't going to be achievable in the near future (I am talking about 50 years +)

You can keep thinking whatever you want, but as I said, you would expect Russia to either push the Ukrainian out of Kursk or took Porvorsk since last year, neither of them happened and it's almost March, that show you how much Russia can handle, I don't deal with what if, or what I think, I look at past military action to predict the future, you read your own lable,

When Russia withrew from Kiev, I thought it's all over for Russia but they regrouped and kept on fighting and slowly taking more territory. I understand your point, the war is stalemate, both sides are slowly bleeding each other, Ukraine is only standing due to Nato/EU funding and weaponary otherwise they be toast. If Nato keeps funding and giving weapons to Ukraine, in 10 years we be in the same position.

When Japan beat China they took Taiwan. When Japan beat Russia they took South Sakhalin. When Germany beat France they took Alsace Lorraine. Russia would be seen as a win if they take Taurida Donbas.
