I know this is not breaking news .
But I've just noticed of the coincidence. And I open the thread to talk about differences about last Chinese administrations.
On 16 November 2002,[11] an outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) began in China's Guangdong province, bordering Hong Kong. The first case of infection was traced to Foshan
On 15 November 2002, after the 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, a new Hu Jintao-led Politburo nominally succeeded Jiang's, while Hu became the CCP general secretary, effectively making him the paramount leader
So strange coincidence.
In my opinion, it was the welcome gift of USA Bush administration to new Chinese president.
I think Hu Jintao administration was in some kind submissive to USA.
By the other side, Xi Jinping administration started in 2012, it was hard and sovereign facing USA until the day of today.
