King Mohammed VI Targeting Saudi Arabia is an attack on the feelings of more than a billion Muslims

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, sent two telegrams to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister, following the repeated attacks launched against the Kingdom by the terrorist Houthi militias.
In these telegrams, His Majesty the King affirmed that, “Out of loyalty to the bonds of religion, history, and shared destiny, and to the strong ties of brotherhood that unite us personally, our families, and our two brotherly peoples, I address you at this critical juncture for your dear country, a time when historical responsibility, religious values, and strategic considerations demand that we all stand united in defense of right, sovereignty, security, and the sacred values of the nation.”
His Majesty expressed his deep concern and anxiety regarding the attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is subjected to repeated and heinous attacks by the terrorist Houthi militias on civilian and economic facilities and vital equipment, as well as targeting cities and residential areas populated by civilians. His Majesty stressed that “what doubles the feelings of condemnation is that these attacks did not stop at targeting facilities and civilians, but went beyond that to desperate and sinful attempts to target the purest and holiest places on earth in the conscience of every Muslim: Mecca and Medina.”
His Majesty the King stressed that "these despicable attacks and desperate attempts to undermine the security, stability, and well-being of the noble Saudi people are not only an attack on the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its generous people, and the pilgrims visiting it, but also a blatant assault on the feelings of more than 1.8 billion Muslims across the globe. They are also a flagrant violation of the values and principles upon which the true Islamic faith is founded, including peace, tolerance, and the sanctity of life, honor, and holy sites."
His Majesty the King expressed to the Saudi monarch and the Saudi Crown Prince, on his own behalf and on behalf of the entire Moroccan people, "our condemnation of these criminal acts, for which the terrorist Houthi militias and those who stand behind them, finance them, and arm them bear full responsibility. We hold them all accountable before God, history, and international law, and they must face the appropriate international sanctions."
He emphasized that "the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, like the security of the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, is an integral part of the security of the Kingdom of Morocco. Any attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco, because we consider a victory for our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the other sisterly Gulf states to be a victory for right and legitimacy, and defending their supreme interests to be a defense of our shared strategic interests."
He also affirmed Morocco's unwavering support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting the dangers it faces as a result of the actions of terrorist and separatist militias and the regional powers behind them. These militias target the security of their neighbors and their regional sphere with a short-sighted and destructive vision aimed at undermining the security of the entire region, disrupting the stability enjoyed by its countries, and threatening vital maritime routes of paramount importance to the global economy and the security of international maritime navigation.
His Majesty continued, "As we share this strategic assessment with you, we reiterate that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216." Resolution 2722 (2015), which requires militias to withdraw, surrender their weapons, and cease violence, and Resolution 2722 (2024), which demands they immediately cease attacks on maritime navigation. Furthermore, targeting civilian areas, economic facilities, and holy sites constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international conventions and norms, and cannot go unpunished.
