Saudi Arabia.. Construction of the largest building in the world begins at a cost of $50 billion
1730007459949.jpeg

Construction work on the largest skyscraper in the world has begun in Riyadh, at a cost of $50 billion, as part of the development projects announced by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Featuring upscale restaurants, retail space, offices and restaurants, this massive cube will serve as a city center in its own right with a floor area of 2 million square feet.

The cube will also be home to many people, as it will include 104,000 residential units and 9,000 hotel rooms with vast green spaces. The cube development company is proud that it will use artificial intelligence to create exciting experiences for visitors to this place. This includes giant screens that will cover the outside of the arena, similar to a giant Las Vegas ball.

Although the project aims to move Saudi Arabia towards a more modern future, the company said it draws design inspiration from the local environment and regional architecture.

The buildings and area surrounding the urban oasis are inspired by wadis, the Arabic term for riverbed formations.

The organized winding paths, partly lined with smaller buildings, will create an image resembling desert streams flowing through the rugged rocks leading to the building.

The square design itself is considered a reference to the regional Najdi architectural style. Najdi is characterized by buildings made of mud brick, window openings, triangular or rectangular doors, and central outdoor courtyards.

The Cube Project is expected to add more than $51 billion to the non-oil GDP and create 334,000 job opportunities.

The New Square Development Company says the project will employ about 900 workers and will be completed by 2030.

The "Saudi Vision 2030" project aims to reduce the Kingdom's dependence on oil revenues, diversify the economy, and build public service sectors. Bin Salman has laid out ambitious plans for construction across the peninsula, which include a floating port city called “Oxagon” located on the Red Sea coast, a mountainous tourist destination called “Trowena,” and a “futuristic” city in the northwestern part of the country called “Neom.” It will be powered entirely by renewable energy.

The kingdom has also made plans to build “THE LINE,” a 105-mile-long concept building that will theoretically be home to 9 million people. All these projects are expected to be completed by 2030.

1730007504221.jpeg

The project includes a museum and a technical university.

80 areas for live shows and entertainment.

Floor area of more than 25 million square meters.

The project includes 104 thousand housing units.

9 thousand hospitality units.

Commercial space: 980 thousand square metres.

1.4 million square meters of office space.

620 thousand square meters for entertainment facilities.

1.8 million square meters for community facilities.

The project's surroundings do not exceed 15 minutes on foot.

It is approximately 20 minutes away from the airport by car.

It is 400 meters high, 400 meters wide, and 400 meters long.
