Sea Sultan Long-Range MPA | Updates & Discussion

If the 5th platform is heading for conversion, then surely the first one should be done by now? We have not seen anything yet ?
they we're all purchased at different times, so this was the 4th purchased airframe, but delivered recently, so the first airframe (A6-HHS) will be ready this summer.

So this makes it 3 undergoing conversion, 1 in Pak and one not delivered yet. Then as far as i know i BELIEVE the next airframe will be an ex dubai royal flight bird. The broker who had the mandate for it hinted to me that the PN was considering the offer.

This was the most recent airframe.

Photo of it at FAWB in october- when it was delivered. (wonderboom), parked behind it is the DAPA 737 KFX Radar testbed, also converted, but operated too by Paramount group SA on behalf of DAPA.

Fun fact, N915J did a stint in India, being registered under a VT reg for a bit before being sold on.

Yes, its a really great program, one ive got alot of interest in. I update myself on its progress from time to time and then update here.

Its quite an exciting program and i look very forward to seeing the final product this summer.

The airframes are very few and far between, and in the world of business aviation, everyone knows eachother so through the grapevine, you can get a good idea of things. Infact, i feel confident enough to be able to predict which airframes they will buy next based off of whats due to come to the market 😂

Where i think the real shame lies is the PN did not offer this option on the market for other customers. Partner up with paramount and the other oems and offer it as a solution for export. There is very few MPA types available, and this is a very good P8 contender.

cant just these companies ditch PN and go through their own route and offer them to navies similar to us?

yea A6-HHS will be out.

It took the longest because it was the development airframe, so everything else will be fast now as all the development work is complete.
Can we expect two delivered by the end of the year?

I think it would be unlikely, very unlikely.

But theres always a possibility, just seems like it would be difficult

I suspect that will be the plan ie export sales of the design with some kickback to PN, but people will wait for PN to iron out the bugs first and people will see how well the platform performs before getting onto it.

What are the final equipment selections for sea sultan? Other than structural changes to carry weapons, which radar and EOTS are being employed? Any specific submarine hunting equipment?

No need to become a target for Boeing at this time unless you let Embraer take the lead
