Good point, any procurement needs to be well defended because fighter jets can become strategic assets especially quite advance ones.It can be funded by a third party. 'A fleet of attack drones against militants' is a myopic take. With Israel and UAE backed Somaliland, there is a need of stronger airpower in Somalia. There is no drone that can replace a multi-role fighter aircraft.
With Houthis on one side of Bab ul Mandeb and Horn of Africa on other, this is one of the most important geostrategic locations for Pakistan and its allies.
