Im sorry this has had a big effect on youI am amazed at the quality of the roads and how tiny they are. For a country that aspires to compete with China, the disparity in development and modernity is truly stark. Even smaller Asian countries like Pakistan have vastly superior infrastructure than India. Not sure what to attribute to except maybe the legendary Indian bureaucracy because it surely isn’t funds.

Its about perception. India has much higher rates of vehicle ownership and sales and that's why most roads look congested, apart from encroachment problems on our streets. So even a 3 lane over there might feel wide but narrow in India.I am amazed at the quality of the roads and how tiny they are. Most videos of pakistan i see, i don't see an encroachment problem that happens here. Also lack of heavy buses and trucks everywhere also makes it appear less congested than Indian roads. Even after our cities having metro lines, it is not able to take enough traffic out of the roads.Plenty of 3 lane and 4 lanes choked everyday in Lahore. In large cities, Pakistan objectively has better roads. The highways are more impressive and better than in North America, from my experience. In the 90s, the PMLN realized that building shinny roads allowed them to fake progress, the gimmick spread quick. Then as traffic grew and grew worse the one trick ponies kept building bigger and better roads, instead of teaching the people how to drive properly, resulting in bigger/better roads than should have been needed.
The traffic, OTOH, has gone down to the levels I imagine you'd see in hell. In Lahore and Karachi, I don't believe it's any better than in India.
For what? Sharing the same traffic in 2nd gear.
