What I gather from today´s meeting in Damascus is that Al-Shara promised to eliminate ISIS in return for the kurdish areas. They want to reincorporate the areas halt by SDF without force by all SDF volunteers going back to where they came from and only the Syrian kurds remaining and SNA or HTS taking control of the entire border line with Turkey plus Hasakh and all the other villages.

There is absolutely no political reason for the US to keep the SDF there. They can have their SNA in Al Tanf moved to Deir Ezzor while the SDF local get reincoperated into New Syrian Army. One unified Syria

Barbara Leaf, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, traveled to Damascus and met with al-Julani today, less than two weeks after he took control of Syria without a fight.

Let's review what happened: An American diplomatic official went to meet a person who was, for her country, an international terrorist wanted with a $10 million reward, and who had no official status, in order to talk to him about what he would do to the future of Syria, without elections, institutions, or a constitution.

Let's believe that America was surprised by the movements of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, and that there was no coordination, facilitation, or green light. Can you tell me what happened in less than two weeks that would make an American official go to Damascus with complete confidence to meet an international terrorist with a reward for information about him?

Speaking of the reward, Barbara Leaf informed al-Julani that the reward had been canceled, and later told reporters that the decision was “political and in line with discussions with HTS about America’s interests."

"America's interests"... which are simply that Syria completely withdraws from the Eastern Bloc, whether Russia or Iran.

"America's interests" are the main criterion by which a decision is made to facilitate the extradition of a terrorist by a country.

Again..why is this? Because of America's interests.
