Iran oil and KSA oil are different if Syrian refineries designed to work with Iranian oil it take time to make them compatible

KSA used to export oil to Syria for decades so that should not be a major problem. SABIC, ARAMCO etc. can built the necessary infrastructure as well if needed.

Barbara Leaf, the leading US diplomat for the Middle East, said the decision was made after Jolani, who is now using his real name Ahmed al-Sharaa, shared “positive messages” in their talks in Damascus on Friday.
“Based on our discussion, I told him we would not be pursuing the reward offer that has been in effect for some years,” Ms Leaf said, following the first formal visit by a US diplomat to the capital since the early days of the country’s civil war.
Jolani, Syria’s de-facto new ruler, who has former links to Islamic State (IS) and al-Qaeda, is head of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the Islamist group, which is still classified as a terrorist organisation by the US.
Ms Leaf added: “We will be looking for progress on these principles and actions, not just words.” She also said the US expected Iran to have no “role whatsoever in the new Syria”."

Syria’s new rulers have appointed a foreign minister, the official Syrian news agency (Sana) said on Saturday, as they seek to build international relations two weeks after ex-president Bashar al-Assad was ousted.
The ruling General Command named Asaad Hassan al-Shibani as foreign minister, Sana said.
A source in the new administration told Reuters that this step “comes in response to the aspirations of the Syrian people to establish international relations that bring peace and stability”.
No details were immediately available about Shibani.
Syria’s de facto ruler, Ahmed al-Sharaa, has actively engaged with foreign delegations since assuming power, including hosting the UN’s Syria envoy and senior US diplomats.
Sharaa has signalled a willingness to engage diplomatically with international envoys, saying his primary focus is on reconstruction and achieving economic development. He has said he is not interested in engaging in any new conflicts.

The United States, other Western powers and many Syrians were glad to see rebel groups led by Sharaa’s Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) topple Assad, but it is not clear whether the Islamist group will impose strict sharia law or show flexibility and move towards democracy.

DAMASCUS: Qatar reopened its embassy in Damascus on Saturday, 13 years after it was closed early in Syria’s civil conflict, as foreign governments seek to establish ties with the country’s new rulers.
An AFP journalist saw Qatar’s flag raised over the mission, making it the second nation, after Turkey, to officially reopen its embassy since rebels drove president Bashar al-Assad from power earlier this month.
Unlike several other Arab governments, Qatar – which supported opposition groups during Syria’s civil war – did not attempt to rehabilitate Assad before his toppling.
Earlier on Saturday, workers were busy sweeping the pavement, cleaning the area and removing graffiti from the building’s walls. One of the workers had placed the Qatari flag at the base of the flagpole.
