Tang dynasty battles with the caliphate

which professor said that? Han is made of thousands of ethnicities that bonded together over time including Hun/Xiongnu/Nomadics

During conquest of the Eastern and Western Turkestan millions of Turks also assimilated into Han

Its also natural that many assimilation happened. Same with Ottoman Empire.

Im not an expert but the "Han" Identity is a cultural identity not a genetic identity. Southern Chinese often look more Vietnamese than us northerners but they are every bit as Han as any other Chinese. Han culture assimilated thousands of ethnic cultural groups into it. If going by genetics alone by DNA shows i have far more in common with koreans/mongolians than Southern Chinese.

Interesting.

And yes, that would mean you have some Turkic/Hun blood being from northern China.

And the southern Chinese have different cuisine too I think? Remember reading about it before but not 100%

Or maybe I just made-it up

My original words are: the Han ethnic group is the main ethnic group closest to pure bloodline in this world. The reason is that over 90% of the Y chromosomes in the Han ethnic group are of O3 type, and of course, the X chromosomes in the Han ethnic group are very chaotic. I didn't say that Han people don't have mixed blood, Han people just have relatively less mixed blood compared to other ethnic groups.

Yeah the climates are very different so the south relies on rice and the North wheat. But also many regional differences too
