Doom didn't kill the Amiga...Wolfenstein 3D did

Hmm...not sure how true the above is.
I certainly played Wolfenstein 3D back in 1992 but it was not as popular as this guy is making it. Wolfenstein was only known by those of us reading shareware booklets...which was not mainstream software. Since PCs were pricey back then most PC owners weren't young gamers...they were older, using Lotus 1-2-3, and never even heard of shareware.

A Virtual Tour of U-505 -- 360 VR!

Look in all directions in this immersive tour of the U-505, the only German submarine captured during World War II. This intact submarine is on display at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry as a war memorial to those who lost their lives in the titanic Battle of the Atlantic, as well as a vessel of huge significance. The US Navy's USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) captured U-505 on June 4, 1944, making it the first enemy vessel captured by the US Navy since the War of 1812.
Our knowledgeable tour guide tells us more about the history of U-505, the names of the Captains involved, the significance of the Enigma Machine. She also shows us what conditions were like onboard during a depth charge attack! I hope you enjoy. And many thanks the the Museum of Science and Industry for the opportunity to take this video.

C/D 60th Anniversary: Looking Back at Our Tests of Four Breakthrough Gadgets

Smoking Out Old Smokey Radar-Detector Test, February 1979

The Test:
Our first truly comprehensive radar-detector roundup.
What We Said Then: “We do have a 55-mph speed limit . . . and apparently enough people are sufficiently opposed to this impediment to progress to turn the manufacture of radar detectors into one of the most tumultuous growth industries in America.”
How It Worked: We zeroed in on 12 detectors, testing their ability to pick up X- and K-band radar signals by positioning real police radar equipment in various settings along real roads. Cincinnati Microwave’s Escort won by a landslide.
What We Say Now: While the technology has progressed, the mission of radar detectors remains the same: saving our wallets.
