The F414-EPE and newer variants have 26,400 lbf (117 kN), giving an almost 11:1 thrust/weight ratio.

The M88 is underpowered, compared to both the F414 and the EJ200.

So compare F414 EPE and M88 T-rex. Same perf increase (+20%), so the less than 4% difference remains my dear.

If these 2 engines are built for same purpose : good in all, but not optimised in one field, EJ200 can't be compared : optimised for high altitude, as M53 in its time. less optimised for CAS mission.

Are we still in the KAAN thread, since - contrary what certain fan-boys think - I'm indeed interested in and impressed by this type - I only don't think it is the best of the best and will be ready soon - but these constant France/Turkey comparisons are just off topic and in fact irrelevant!?

We need a heavy fighter (maybe lighter than the german one) to carry internally the deterrent ASN4G. And if not, why building a 80.000 tons carrier ?

This is not correct. The FCAS project failed mainly because France aimed for a lightweight fighter, whereas Germany favored a fighter jet that resembled a heavy bomber, capable of flying to Moscow and back.
