Our TEI and TR-MOTOR are not "overenthusiastic" guys
İf they say something that means they can develop turbofan Engine
Maybe there will be a delay of a few years at most, but eventually they will succeed
They have proven this so far with the TEI TS-1400 Engine
No more we need USA for Helicopter Engines
This was a dream 8 years ago, but Türkiye has become one of the 6 countries in the world in this field.
The next is turbofan Engine .. TF-6.000 , TF-10.000 and in finally TF-35.000
Wait and See
Thanks to American embargoes which forced Turkiye to develop its own advanced defense Industry
Turkey will be able to build Kaan, although the engine will be a big issue, from TF-10,000 to 35,000 is a big jump but Turkey will accomplish this. The backup will be temporary Russian or Chinese engine so Kaan is definitely coming, after 2030s it will go in to mass production.
Honestly, it makes no sense to install yet another interim engine and even more so not a Chinese nor Russian one since none would sell their latest engines (WS-10C or WS-15 and AL-51F) and it would require yet another redesign … IMO unrealistic and a waste of time & resources
Russia would sell the AL-51, depending on the right geopolitical circumstances. Namely a chance to pry Turkey away from the West, if such a scenario emerges, Putin made that obvious after the coup attempt where he offered the S-400, and even offered transfer of tech and local manufacturing, before Turkey balked due to US pressure after the first battery was delivered.
The WS-10Bs are already being exported with J-10C to various states, not sure if the WS-10C is some sort of unimaginable export possibility.
Im still convinced this won’t be the case and even more it makes technically no sense to redesign the aircraft just for an interim engine
The core engine technology of WS10 comes from the civilian engine CFM-56 jointly developed by France and the United States, while Russia's engine technology originates from the Soviet Union. What is the technical origin of Türkiye's TF35000? Currently, Kaan is using American made engines. If a non Western system engine is used, would the intake duct and fuselage need to be redesigned?
According to a Turkish defense analyst Col Gucluer (rtd) at a recent TV show, the fuselage and tail sections of a KAAN prototype is being modified to house TEI 35k lb engine. It implies the design of that engine, at the least geometry-wise, is almost finalized.....The core engine technology of WS10 comes from the civilian engine CFM-56 jointly developed by France and the United States, while Russia's engine technology originates from the Soviet Union. According to Rtd Col Gucluer, KAAN is going through a "geometric" modification in the air frame to enhance its stealth characteristics. Moreover, an especial instrument is being developed to instruct the pilot to change its flying position to avoid the enemy radar signals to minimize its signature....
As for the indigenous engines for KAAN, the engineers want to synchronize its development with the modifications in the fuselage and tail parts to house them. They're that close to finishing it, and that dead sure they will make it....
As for avoiding the radar signals to detect it during opening and closing of the internal bays to fire the missiles and SOMs, this action needs to be dead fast. They've implemented a system, similar to that for F-35s, to realize it....
Failure is no option for KAAN......

Türkiye made the F-35 center fuselage, so it must have made the parts where the gun went. Will the T-FX also feature a gun in the same spot?
