Trump Announces Major Pakistan Trade Deal, Vows Joint Oil Development/Exploration

That was a different block , 100s of miles away.

So which one are these Trump mentioned.

For the sake of Pakistan, I am hoping these are not the same, otherwise will cause a lot of shithosery.

@Meengla sb,

And where did India get the money from??

What money are you talking about? FDI? FII? Do those moneys come from the sovereign governments of West/Quad countries, or do they come from MNCs who think that there is money to be made from investing in India.

Regards

If you carefully read my post then must have seen I gave credit to India for wisely choosing the block where the money is, unlike a stupid Khan from Pakistan who was going to form an Islamic NATO with peripheral poorer countries like Malaysia at the expense of Pakistan's traditional (and rich) allies and who, as sitting Prime Minister of Pakistan, was wrongly blaming the lone Superpower for his own ouster.

Interesting questions:
1. Why are Indians bothered about "Pakistan's Sovereignty " after. bombing us twice in the last 6 years and killing 200 civilians?
2. Yes, Pakistan will "surrender " the development of its oil, gas and mineral reserves to the USA just as the Bedouin tribes of Saudi Arabia,Dubai, Oman, "surrendered " the development of their oil reserves to the USA, Britain and France. Today these countries provide jobs to 9 million Indians who don't ask questions about the sovereignty of the countries they are working in.
The downside is Pakistan can't promise jobs to Indians the way Saudi Arabia or Dubai does. We don't want you here.
We will share our wealth and jobs with Bangladesh.

Great reply.

With huge oil discovered in countries just to the north and west of Pakistan, it is not inconceivable that Pakistan, too, has oil reserves, especially in the Arabian Sea. But, yes, so far that's only a possibility.
What Pakistanis would really like to do is to keep America at least neutral. Since Obama's late first term, the hostility has only increased until just now. Staying neutral is a gain. Staying positive wonderful. So whatever buttering up it takes to get there: Trump Nobel Peace Prize. Kurilla getting high military honor. Pakistani topmost officials praising Trump's role. Whatever lip service it would take, that is!
All that is fine, but what are the specifics of the deal ? So far, the US has not even confirmed that anything other than a framework for oil exploration has been agreed upon ( even who will carry it out has not been decided and it is unclear if anyone will think it is worthwhile since Exxonmobil has already failed once).

And even proven oil reserves are not always economically viable. Look at Venezuela and the heavy oil in the Arctic.

You obviously have no idea about oil economics if you think the quality of the Saudi oil reserves is comparable to the hypothetical Pakistani reserves. Saudis can generate cash from their oil even at single digit prices. Assuming any oil is actually discovered in Pakistan, it won't be viable below mid to high double digit prices.

I thought you are intelligent, you proved me wrong.
Saying Imran Khan was "stupid" for engaging Malaysia and Turkey really misses the bigger picture. That shift wasn’t about chasing some fantasy alliance, it was a move toward breaking free from overdependence on old, transactional partners. Just because a country isn’t filthy rich doesn’t mean it’s irrelevant. Turkey’s tech game and Malaysia’s diplomacy are nothing to scoff at.

Calling it “Islamic NATO” is a lazy label. It wasn’t about forming a bloc for war, it was about exploring mutual interests, boosting South-South ties, and looking for new options in trade and defense. Why should Pakistan always be stuck in the same lane?

And the blame on the superpower? Whether one agrees or not, questioning foreign involvement in domestic politics isn’t absurd, it’s healthy skepticism. Leaders have every right to speak up if they believe there’s meddling, especially when half the country already suspects it.

As for India “going where the money is,” fair enough, it’s pragmatic. But blindly jumping into one camp also comes with strings attached. True strategy isn’t just about chasing dollars, it’s about building alliances that serve your long term independence.

There are multiple offshore blocks , some are already given to joint ventures between Pak and turk oil companies.....Pak oil companies don't have experience in offshore drilling...... American companies are by far the most advanced in offshore drilling....it's going to be a joint venture with almost same terms and conditions like oil companies have in other parts of the world......one thing I can tell you with confidence , reserves are there and they are huge .....they are not going to make us rich like the gulf states but they will certainly resolve our perennial balance of payment crisis.... that's good enough for me.

What I was highlighting, is bloomberg specifically mentioned Kekra-1 which is hundreds of km from the shoreline. And that is the one PMIK was focused on. If this in indeed the one where drilling will start, then it has got political ramifications. The exploration was done back in 2019, when both PMIK and Trump were in the office for the first time. American companies were given access. Trump and IK were close. You do the math.

Yes indeed, and we need to allow American companies do business in Pakistan. Create mutually beneficial dependencies with powers to be, most of your problems will take care of themselves.

F Israel. It doesn't deserve to exist. No trade for Palestinian blood for Oil.... Although I doubt that is the deal.
F arabs we are not policeman of the Muslim world, we have lots of external internal threats to deal with Palestine issue is not our problem

And remember dude our prophet (PBUH) gave the prophies that near judgement day Jews willl come to their promise land and will have a evil intentions against all Muslims at that time , this happening right now

A diversion to "economics" instead of your own post about sovereignty:

1, What's the source of your information about Pakistan's oil reserves and the quality of the oil ( wax content of the crude, for example or "mud loss " during drilling.? Is it your ONGC "experts" ?

2. How do Pakistan's "unknown" oil reserves compare with India's known oil reserves with the brilliant job done by ONGC over the decades resulting in 83% of imports of oil and gas by India ? I recall that in 1982 ONGC chairman Colonel S.P.Wahi predicted full energy independence of India within the decade.,

3. I confess I am ignorant of economics, which is why I would suggest you as an economist yourself, may wish to explain what President Trump ( no doubt advised by economists) meant when he described India as a "dead economy " . A fact confirmed by your leader of opposition in Parliament.

Kekra 1 is a closed chapter.....it was hyped in a very undignified and tasteless way..... that's the reason present setup is trying to keep a low profile..... And no .....no American company was involved in kekra 1......it was Italian company ENI.

Sakal say to tu paka Christian missionary lagta hai 😂
That Pic is not me, nor a Christian missionary, he was a US Air force Personnel who committed suicide by burning himself outside Israel's embassy, he died to stop the Genocide in Gaza.
