Trump Announces Major Pakistan Trade Deal, Vows Joint Oil Development/Exploration

Picture depict an extremely abusive relationship... friendship you said?

Yes friendship. In these trying times, India sttands firmly with China like @etsy and will help guide the opposition to the US to logical conclusion.

@ety you proceed with great courage and determination. on Tariff s bro, we are with you. Our FM has met you once to give support. We will meet again and again and again until all your problems are taken care of for good.

Indi-Chini bhai bhai.

In the early 1980s the USA chose the so-called "Islamization" of a purely secular national liberation struggle of Afghanistan via Pakistan. It was unwise of Pakistan not to suggest to the USA an alternative course of action. The Soviet Union would have been defeated either way.
We are living with the consequences of our decision as of now but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Offtopic but...
Pakistan was ruled by the Proto-Taliban President Zia ul Haq. Americans didn't need much help to 'Islamize' Pakistan with that guy at the helm. He changed Pakistan in a mere 11 years. And recently we saw another prayer-beads carrying, clean shaven Riyasat e Medina leader who, like Zia, started his speeches with versus from the Quran. Signs of scoundrels!

Many countries have transitioned to a different cultural and social milieu and benefited their people with economic prosperity. The prime examples are Vietnam , Malaysia, and Turkey.

Also Indonesia.

You sounding like a extremely submissive bharti mahila.

We in Pakistan can play the role of pundit, get you two tie the knots, but please don't commit satti after you cheat and get divorced.

Interesting. The references to Pakistan's role in early 70s between China and America are being made multiple times. Pakistan may be acting as a bridge between America and China again, along with America and Iran.
I also think that when General Asim Munir took only the Pakistani ISI Chief to the lunch meeting with Trump and that lunch lasted overtime to beyond 2 hours, then much was discussed and agreed upon on broad contours not just between the two countries but also for regionally. General Munir was careful not to take anyone in that meeting except the ISI Chief as things don't remain hidden in Pakistan for long.

Its about keeping Isreals enemies divided. Iran needs to be pacified first before they turn on Pakistan. India's failed attack made the anglo-american world realise that now isn't the right time to push against Pakistan. So they will put you on the good list for enough time until Iran is dealt with. Then you will become enemy number one along with Turkiye.

You see the "anglo-americans, zionists", by hostile and aggressive Isreali actions in the wider region from syria to iran, was causing Turkiye, Iran and Pakistan to feel that the heat is coming for all of them. If that pressure continued it would have forced all countries to unite. They can't have that.

Pakistan openly said that if Iran falls to Isreal its a direct security threat to her, which it definitely is. India's attack not only failed to destabilise Pakistan, but it invigorated her and raised her regional and national prestige. Last thing they would want is for Pakistan to provide Iran with intelligence and material support. Because if Pakistan is pulled into Iran, it defacto brings Turkiye along for the ride.

So how do you pull Pakistan away from working with Iran against america, isreal, by giving them some small trinkets to tide them over for the short and maybe mid term.

Remember how the western world behaved towards Ghaddafi before destroying him. They made him think he was part of the west with trade deals and the dropping of sanctions, but the reality was that they had already plotted his demise.

The American agenda is not decided by their "selected" presidents, it follows deeply entrenched geopolitical ambitions pursued by their state intelligence service the CIA.

Either way you got to always be on your guard, eternally vigilant.

Pakistan isn't Israel enemy. The Irani fanboys in Pakistan desperately want that but its not happening.

"We have just concluded a Deal with the Country of Pakistan, whereby Pakistan and the United States will work together on developing their massive Oil Reserves.
So, what are the terms of the the trade deal ? This sounds like a Deal only to develop oil reserves where the decision on who will do it has been surrendered to Trump by the Country of Pakistan. What exactly is the Country of Pakistan going to get in exchange for this surrender of its sovereignty ?

I was actually confused even about the oil reserves deal because the Country of Pakistan has only a few hundred million barrels of proven oil reserves with an all-in extraction cost of probably north of $60/barrel. Maybe Trump meant an exploration deal to see if the claimed reserves actually exist and whether they would have any economic viability.

With huge oil discovered in countries just to the north and west of Pakistan, it is not inconceivable that Pakistan, too, has oil reserves, especially in the Arabian Sea. But, yes, so far that's only a possibility.
What Pakistanis would really like to do is to keep America at least neutral. Since Obama's late first term, the hostility has only increased until just now. Staying neutral is a gain. Staying positive wonderful. So whatever buttering up it takes to get there: Trump Nobel Peace Prize. Kurilla getting high military honor. Pakistani topmost officials praising Trump's role. Whatever lip service it would take, that is!

@Meengla sb,

And where did India get the money from??

What money are you talking about? FDI? FII? Do those moneys come from the sovereign governments of West/Quad countries, or do they come from MNCs who think that there is money to be made from investing in India.

Regards

The issue is not the reserves but are these the ones which PMIK was not allowed to announce during his PMship. There is no confusion that it was American companies which were working offshore back then. These connections, if true, will no doubt raise a lot of eye brows towards military establishment, which are already looked down upon.
That was a different block , 100s of miles away.

Interesting questions:
1. Why are Indians bothered about "Pakistan's Sovereignty " after. bombing us twice in the last 6 years and killing 200 civilians?
2. Yes, Pakistan will "surrender " the development of its oil, gas and mineral reserves to the USA just as the Bedouin tribes of Saudi Arabia,Dubai, Oman, "surrendered " the development of their oil reserves to the USA, Britain and France. Today these countries provide jobs to 9 million Indians who don't ask questions about the sovereignty of the countries they are working in.
The downside is Pakistan can't promise jobs to Indians the way Saudi Arabia or Dubai does. We don't want you here.
We will share our wealth and jobs with Bangladesh.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED. INDIA IS STILL MAJOR US STRATEGIC PARTNER AND ALLY

I won't be surprised, when Trump after a few weeks will glorify india and will make announcement on a great deal. This is trump's way of doing business. He first put pressure only as bargaining tactics. A great deal with india is inevitable, the extremely powerful indian lobby at Washington already would be working on it. Not to mention many indian origin people in US govt already. Tech giants already are being led by mostly indians. So let's not get carried away by Trump's temporary change of tone. Trump was scolding Zelensky some time back and then ordered weapon sales to Ukraine after few weeks. He changes quite abruptly.

He mentioned "penalty" on india for buying Russia oil. What penalty? India already made hundreds of billions of dollars by buying cheap oil from Russia and then exporting it back to Europe. Making tremendous profits. India had made a fool of western world for years. They made the best of both worlds. Were buying weapons and oil from Russia and at same time, Getting best of US hardware and investments too. Still F-35 is deal on the table, US VP pushing india to go for it.

So I don't understand celebrations here by some members, As if something really has changed. Don't believe a thing until US investment comes to Pakistan for oil explorations or whatever fields.

In the end, nothing has changed India is still US Major strategic ally and We were always used by the US as a gun for hire. Current Trump's tone in apparent favor of Pakistan is only to put pressure on india to get a favorable deal. He is happy with us, because we do not negotiate like India. Nobody knows in Pakistan what oil & mineral deals the we have agreed upon with the US and on what rates. Let's wait for when and if any investment or explorations do start and then we can resume our celebrations
