As long as Turkey keeps a false narrative on "Islands can't be militarized",which has been debunked a gazillion times,relations won't go forward. If anything,tiny island garissons vs an entire Army which is increasing in size year by year,should prove that Turkey has plans for said islands.

No sane government or cautious country would one-sidedly remove every military presence from its territory when the other side maintains a disproportionate force and the largest landing fleet in the region.

Imagine India telling Pakistan "Remove yer soldars form region of Punjab and Sindh" while the Hindus entrench themselves even more.

You are bound to those obligations to Italy, unless italy renounces the treaty or removes the conditions, which it hasn't done. You are in violation of the treaty, though Italy has not really looked to enforce the treaty.

Turkey's greatest problems are not the Greeks from Greece, but the converted crypto-Greeks from Izmir, Antalya, Bodrum, Fethiye, Aydin and the Bosporus, the Golden Horn and the Prince Islands.

The Turkish army never "kicked the Greeks into the sea". They just kicked them back to the Turkish coastal cities and they became Turkish with the Surname Law.

The Turkish government cant even build a mosque or a madrassa in those coastal cities. A muslim cant walk with a niqab or headscarf there.

First we need to kick those cryptos from our lands (they are living in the most expensive villas at the Aegean and Marmara Sea) before we talk about Greece.
