Turkey Syria - News & Updates

🇸🇾🇹🇷🇮🇶
Syria: Iraqi officials who have mediated talks between Syria and Turkey have said Assad has steadfastly refused to make concessions on the Syrian refugee issue, according to the Financial Times.

A president of a country that refuses to allow its own citizens to return to their homeland. The loss of Aleppo has clearly not taught him a lesson, and he continues to cling to Iran. How far will this go?

This is why majority of Turks want Assad to go. He literally refuses his own people to return home. Unimaginable.

To make one thing clear; even the Iranians (!) push him to cooperate with Ankara but it seems he is trapped in some kind of power trip.

By the way, the disintegration of the regime continues. It hasn't stopped yet.

yep, as expected. Assad wanted to push more people into Turkey and wasn't willing to allow people to return home. Infact he started bombing Idlib.

This is what triggered the current offensive.

Now its confirmed by Iraqi mediators.

I think they are moving them there b/c they need to reenforce the southern side of the Euphrates against a potential PKK offensive backed by the US air support.

If the Regime is pressed, the PKK pushed by the US would try to cut off the Syrian Iraqi border, cutting off the corridor to Syria and Lebanon.

Would be quite funny as the PKK has been collaborating with the Regime, only to be stabbed in the back by them on another front. lol

Looks like Turkey has now the political will to settle this Syrian refugee crisis, no matter what the cost is. A couple of years back I was visiting Istanbul, and it came across my mind that refugee crisis needed to solved till it becomes unbearable....

Let ASSAD/Molla and PKK/YPG finish off each other to make it even easier for the freedom fighters to liberate the eastern parts of their land. The Turkish drones now need to work overtime to earn their "paychecks"....

Our theory is confirmed, Soylu is the Turkey Bureau Chief of the MEE, he has inside information on Turkish matters.

Looks like the West is enjoying every bit of it. So, no pressure on Turkey as Putin has uttered the dreadful N-word. It's called moving your "horses" on the geo-strategic "chess board" at the most opportune time. Thus, you optimize your gains while minimizing your losses. Timing, bon ami, timing....

Putin is tearing his hair out over Syria rebel blitz - he's bitten off more than he can chew

I agree - he should accept his citizens back. That is shameful that he refuses to.
