This guy is a Japanese. Syria is global.

Did they capture all of Hasakah yet? or is it still contested under SDF?
I saw the video of the US forces posturing with their MRAPs trying to stop the complete rout of SDF

Someone received a few slaps behind closed doors.

"Congress stands ready to help maintain stability and to push back against regional players who harm America’s interests by moving against reliable allies like the Kurds."

He is threatening Turkey and then trying to use Saudi against Turkey.

"Saudi Arabia is uniquely positioned to have influence on the Syrian government, and I hope they will exercise it for the benefit of the region and all concerned."

Unfortunately for him, he was cursing the Saudis over not supporting the Iran attack just last week, and has been threatening them over beef with the UAE. So I doubt the Saudis would do anything for him, especially when Saudi has its own reasons for back the Sunni Arab tribes and their interests in northern Syria, many of whom have relations with Saudi.

Just for good measure though it would be good for Hakan Fidan to have talks with Damascus and the US, not sure if he is pushing Rubio to intervene against Barrack on Syria and what the dynamics between Rubio and Barrack are..

Thats some funny shit, he thinks he can throw his weight around in Syria, without the US present. Its Karabakh all over again, he was threatening Azerbaijan.

If they lose their possessions in Africa, France will rapidly descend into a 3rd world nation.

After 3 weeks of conflict, a new #Syria-#SDF deal has been reached -- 🧵:

- Ceasefire & pull back from frontlines;
- Gov't MOI entry to #Qamishli, #Hasakeh;
- #SDF integration as individuals into (1) 3 Brigades in 1 MOD Division & (2) 1 #Kobani Brigade in an MOD #Aleppo Division
- #SDF local Asayish to integrate under MOI command;
- #SDF heavy weapons handover;
- #SDF 'autonomous administration' dissolution & integration into gov't institutions;
- Kurdish rights guaranteed;
- Return of IDPs;
- Govt control of all national assets, infrastructure.
The #SDF integration into the state will take time. MOD 'Brigades' will be formed but the process will be on an individual basis: settlement, vetting & reintegration. Elsewhere in #Syria, this has taken weeks, sometimes months.

Presence of #PKK & #Assad remnants = complication.
The local security transition will be much faster, as the MOI is expected to deploy into #Qamishli, #Hasakeh & other areas very soon -- potentially imminently.

This will symbolize a rapid handover of practical #SDF control to gov't authority at the local security/police level.
On an optimistic level, this deal represents the *integration* of the #SDF into #Syria's transitional state -- GOOD. It should calm tensions & be a force multiplier for #Syria.

Pessimistically, it represents the permanent end of the #SDF. There will be some who resist that.
An almost exact replica of this deal, but *far* more advantageous to the #SDF (it incorporated 3 entire provinces, not 1) was agreed in October 2025 -- but elements within the #SDF blocked its formal signing & implementation.

Has that internal issue been resolved now? We'll see.

Mazlum Abdi's latest statements are absolutely discouraging. He's practically undermining the agreement already. Either he's lying to his audience or this understanding is already null and void.

I hope he wrecks it. I don't like this Brigade stuff. The forces are supposed to enter Hasakah Monday. Iran is allegedly going to be attacked Sunday. If they don't surrender and follow the deal, they should just take it via force.

I actually didn't think they should have gone to ceasefire. It only gave people like Lindsey Graham to get into Trump's ear and try to sabotage things, and time for them to plot in congress, Congress came back on January 26, so that window is gone now. But lets see how this goes..
