Turkey Syria - News & Updates

This Operation needs to be launched soon, the PKK still hasn't agreed to leave, and the Govt in Damascus seems to be either busy with their thing or is too hesitant for a physical confrontation.

The Ocalan speech to dissolve the PKK was supposed to have happened this month, and we have no news of it.

These guys never learn. lol

I think it would make sense for Turkey to start transferring TB2s, Armored Vehicles, MRAPs and other counter insurgency platforms to the new Syrian Govt.

I thought that was going to happen anyway.

it is, infact similar things have been done in Libya. Turkey and HTS didn't really have the same type of relationship that exists with the Libyan and Somali or Sudanese govt, so these sorts of things weren't transferred, but now that there is official relations with diplomacy it makes sense to transfer over this platforms and start training.

They have talked about Defense support, but I think they should probably accelerate the rate of integration.

Has the GNA ordered any Turkish systems? Apart from UAVs

Has the GNA ordered any Turkish systems? Apart from UAVs

Small Arms, a few Soviet ATGMs purchased via Ukraine for them, some IFVs and Armored vehicles(Kirpi, Vuran) were transferred. Some Rocket Artillery systems like the T-122, They were also given Air Defense, some modernized S-125 that Turkey purchased from Ukraine on their behalf. Small Naval patrol vessels to help them crack down on smuggling and trafficking to Europe(I think EU also gave them funds for that). Old M114 Howitzers, some older M60s were spotted.

For the Newer Stuff, Korkut Air Defense guns, Hawks, Hisar-O, Firtinas, ACV-15s.

Note its a bit unclear for some things like Firtinas and Hisar-Os and Hawks whether its Turkish troops operating them in Libya, or whether they were actually sold/transferred over.

That's not bad at all for an army like the GNA has. Even if you exclude the Hisar and Firtinas,it's a nice boost for them.
T-122s and modernized S-125s are a nice upgrade for their defence. All of it actually.

I think the TB2s are the biggest thing though, in an area with the other side has limited air defense, TB2s are like owning F-22/F-35. lol
