Its not a good system if for each individual drone the operator have to first lock on it and then fire the burst. I think locking in should be automatic and in mere 1-2 seconds for each drone.

Since there is no IFF system operator has to decide if to engage or not. It probably picks the target and overall engagement is automatic

its more of an assumption based on reallity since a lot of smaller UAV lack IFF systems and also operators know days as with most ad system simply decide which target to engage.

I hope your assumption is correct and there is less manual work involved in target acquisition. Otherwise such systems will not be effective in case of a swarm.

Interesting that UAE will not be subject to CAATSA?? Maybe some clause on re-selling versus direct purchase from Russia I guess ?

Given UAE itself has expressed an interest in the F-35 for themselves, the purchase of the S-400 itself is interesting as it will face the same problem that Türkiye has.

Could UAE resell the S400 to India? Turkieye would not do that sale, but does this pathway mean that India can get more S400's quicker if India does request to purchase them from UAE?

I hope Türkiye(or Pakistan reminds Türkiye ) to add a new forward re-sale without Türkiye approval ?

The power of serial production - Oğulbey

The first phase of Europe's largest air defense systems production facility called Oğulbey was commissioned (August 2026), and it was announced that the 2026 delivery target will be over 100 units. For example, let's say 120 units (Hisar-O or Siper) are delivered. Let's see Türkiye's production capacity with a rough calculation:

Medium-Range (HİSAR-O+): A battery consists of an average of 7 units. Delivering 120 units means an average of 17 Hisar-O+ batteries per year.

Long-Range (Sipar B1): A battery consists of an average of 12-14 units. Delivering 120 units means an average of 8-10 Siper B1 batteries per year.

It was stated that when Oğulbey is fully operational, it will increase the total production capacity by more than 2x. The impact of the first phase, opened this year, on the total production capacity will be limited for 2026 as of its opening date. When full capacity is reached, I estimate that the number of units to be delivered annually, will be between 250-300 units per year. This capacity translates to 36-42 Hisar batteries or 18-25 Siper batteries per year.

This annual production capacity means that Turkiye can produce 3-4 times more medium or long-range air defense missile system batteries than the total number of batteries in the inventories of the most advanced countries in Europe, in just one year (when needed)

these deliveries will consist of other stuff as well not just dedicated ad system as ew systems are now also being accounted for and Oğulbey will supply multiple different systems that are not part of steel dome

Turkey needs to automate the production of SIPER block 1 and 2 at scale to the highest level possible

for example lets say Turkey build 80-150 x SIPER 1 and 30-70 x SIPER 2 initially

then Oğulbey reaches full-rate production they could do say 250+ units per year

that compares to US PAC-3 MSE / higher-end Patriot at 600 per year

but US plans to ramp production over 7 years to over 2,000 x PAC-3 per year

im not comparing Turkey to USA but thats some numbers for you

a better comparison is the ASTER production which I think Turkey probably already is exceeding once the Oğulbey reaches full production capacity

another words Turkish industrial production might is matching its technological innovations on the battlefield

Also , that means we will cover whole Turkiye for $24 billion

If we had imported Air Defense Systems from abroad like Greece, we would have had to pay $75-100 billion
