Turkish Air Defence Programs

Is there a similar system in the world? I don't think there is a system in inventory and in use. I think it will be the first laser weapon system to enter the inventory.

Siper Product-1 Leaves Behind the 100th Firing Test

Assets and Capabilities of Siper Product-1

Product-1 is the first iteration of Siper long-range air defence system as the outermost layer of the Steel Dome integrated air defence system.

The Siper Product-1 missile used in the system is essentially a Hisar-RF medium-range air defence missile with modified guidance package including GNSS-supported midcourse guidance and a booster based on that of Atmaca anti-ship missile. Like Hisar-RF, Siper Product-1 has an active radar seeker and dual-pulse rocket motor for high kinematic performance at the terminal approach. The missile can reach a range of 100+ km and an altitude of 20+ km, with each trailer carrying six missiles.

There are two types of radars within the structure of a Siper battery: ALP 310-G S-band AESA early warning radar and AKREP 1000-G AESA multi-functional fire control radar. ALP 310-G serves as the main means of detection, while AKREP 1000-G is mainly intended for engagements with a secondary searching capability.

NSPA awards five Outline Agreements and Modular GBAD Concept Study #1

LUXEMBOURG, 27 May 2025 - The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has awarded five Outline Agreements to Airbus Defence and Space GmbH, ASELSAN Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Lockheed Martin UK, Raytheon and Thales LAS, to support the Modular GBAD Concept Stage with concept studies and technical services.
As a first outcome of an innovative procurement strategy, these five Contractors will be immediately tasked to work on the Concept Study (CS) #1 (System Architecture), intended as an overarching system architecture framework that will be used to guide future studies.
The CS#1 deliverables are expected by mid of September 2025 and will be evaluated in order to identify the most promising system architectures. The successful contractors will then continue to support the Modular GBAD Concept Stage with Concept Study #2 (Modularity) and #3 (New Technologies).
The multiple contractors participating in this competitive setup will provide valuable, independent perspectives on potential concepts of modularity that can meet the Modular GBAD challenges, aiming to identify and exploit proven and innovative technologies to support the defined Modular GBAD operational and supportability capabilities.
The award of the Modular GBAD Concept Study #1 via five Outline Agreements is a successful example of the effective governance of all Modular GBAD Support Partnership Nations.
This milestone reaffirms NSPA’s commitment to professionalism, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, as the Agency becomes the premier choice for multinational defence acquisition across the Alliance, providing a link between Nations and Industry.

New challenge, which is morphing fast, is how to effectively counter small kamikaze battlefield drones, and, kamikaze drones which can be unleashed using spiderweb type operations.
Since hundreds can be unleashed, both soft kill and kinetic methods required.
Need to turn thousands of conventional machine guns to operate automatically and linked to small short range radars.

100 machines guns controlled by one, 1 - 5 km range radar, machines guns can be linked using wifi, Li-Fi۔
Need to use Matter/Thread/Zigbee protocols, and IoT to connect many cheap guns to operate together to track and kills cheap kamikaze drone swarms.
