I think trying to rejoin as an Industrial partner and waiting for those talks to complete will take a very long time. Might be worth decoupling the procurement of the platform itself from Industrial talks given how much Türkiye needs a stealth platform now.

Eurofighter Typhoon flight training begins!

MSB: As part of the Eurofighter Typhoon procurement, it is planned that Turkish Pilots who have completed Terminology training will begin their flight training on September 7, 2026.

Our pilots will also undergo 3 months of Instructor Pilot Training following the 8-month flight training

Japan has officially announced that it will modify its ASM-3ER supersonic anti-ship missile, both in terms of software and hardware, and use it as an air to air missile to hit AWACS , Bombers , etc



Turkiye can do it with the SIPER-2 air defense Missile with range of 250-300 km

RAFALE and F-16V wouldn't even have the chance to fly in the Aegean

No need even AESA Radar on the Turkish F-16s ... Boeing E-7T AEWC can guide the SIPER-2 Missile via data link




The USA modified the ship-launched SM-6 air defense missile to produce the long range AIM-174B air-to-air missile, launched from F/A-18 Fighter Jet

We are mid 2026 and the jet is all but mature.
Even the engines may not have been delivered in 2028. Only 10 have been purchased if I remember well for prototyps only.

A 2031-32 entry date is more probable.

KAAN Block-10 Fighters will have initial operational capability by 2029
At this stage, the KAAN is capable of launching air to air missiles, using its AESA Radar and performing certain air defense tasks

In Block 20 configuration , the software-based fusion of all these sensors and the variety of munitions will be further enhanced incuding MUM-T concept by 2030-2032

in Block 30 configuration is planned as the true 5th gen and 100% indigenous version of the KAAN including the TF-35.000 engine by 2035

not comparable South Korea has/had more experience in aircraft building and designing than we do. KF 21 is also much less ambitious in its current form than our Kaan and uses more "off the shelf" components that are already proven.

Well Turkey has done both and the F-35.

KF-21 is an incremental project, less risky : the first gen jet are without bay for exemple.
It helps a lot. See how it is difficult to fine tune F-35, from a master class manufacturer with a far deep know how than any turkish manufacturer have.
