possibly, its not necessarily all for Turkey, but production in general for export as well. Indonisia, Malaysia, Saudi, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt and even Qatar have shown interest in KAAN.

You don't jump through a complicated internal US procedure packed with political obstacles and traps to get F35s and then come back to face hell again just for F16s. After the Eurofighter deal, I think the focus has changed. The new goal of the Turkish government is likely F35s along with a big modernization package for certain Turkish F-16s.

The F-35 is the real test.

F-16s were approved under biden, the authorization is still valid for Lockheed to sell up to 40 and upgrade packages, they correctly cancelled the upgrade packages, too expensive and can be done via Ozgur 2. But I think there is a possibility that they order new airframes to retire the Block 30s, and to either keep the same fighter numbers or potentially expand the air force. Lets see, the original plan was 100 F-35s but obviously that not going to happen, and nor should it happen.

Lets see how it all plays out. I can see it going either way, they could choose to go for both, or choose only the F-35.
