Turkish Defence Industry - Exports & News

sell it for double the price since they didn’t come to us first
ATMACA wasn't a thing when Norway and Malaysia signed the contract. Besides, Malaysia deserves our full support. They're important and very valuable allies and friends.

📍NEW/IMPORTANT — German media outlet WELT: “Germany is drawing up striking secret plans for a missile deal with Turkey.”

▪️WELT’s newspaper had previously reported, citing German government sources, that Germany was interested in the Yıldırımhan intercontinental ballistic missile and the Typhoon Block-4 hypersonic missile.

▪️Now, Turkish government sources speaking to the newspaper have emphasised that a missile deal between Germany and Turkey is a “realistic” possibility.

▪️According to the newspaper, an agreement on missile procurement between Turkey and Germany could be announced during the NATO Summit in Ankara.

▪️It is stated that an agreement regarding the Typhoon Block-4 missile would be far more realistic and could be implemented swiftly.

▪️WELT also notes that Germany’s consideration of purchasing Turkish missiles has been met with backlash from the Greek Cypriot Administration and Greece.

▪️Foreign Minister Fidan is visiting Berlin today and will meet with his German counterpart Wadephul; security and defence will also be discussed in the talks.

I think ther are American parts in the missile and trumpistan didn't sell it, other way the would never do this to Malaysians.

"Exports of some of the most sensitive Norwegian-developed defense technologies will be limited to our allies and closest partners,” - Norwegian Foreign Ministry

They're absolutely unreliable. Money wasn't an issue either. Some speculate the Malaysian PM attending the Moscow Victory Parade is the actual reason behind the cancellation.

Norway is prioritizing its own and NATO stock. Malaysia got cut out.

Honestly I think Turkey should have been more aggressive in pursuing these contracts in the first place.

There should be a strategic document signed between countries that go beyond simple buyer seller relationships, a strategic partnership where before they buy any weapon system they see if it can be done within the ecosystem, and first priority is given to those inside the ecosystem.

Turkey has lost sales in SEA to Korea by not being aggressive enough at the political level to go beyond buyer seller, both Indonesia and Malaysia should have been sold Hurjets and an offer should have been made, whether local production or transfer of tech or integrating their own system, which makes the Turkish deal more competitive than the Korean one. Maybe even some sort of barter, where Turkey agrees to only buy from them, vs buying something on the open market.

Something like D8 but for Defense cooperation. I think Turkey has the potential to essentially shut out all defense competitors in the Turkic and Islamic world, no reason from Kazakstan and Uzbekistan to be buying Russian or Chinese or French, when Turkey builds the same things.

If they build the ecosystem, it will be a 3rd or 4th Pole in this world.

except Turkiye , Nobody can build 3 Frigates within a 36-month period in Europe
( with cheaper price but high quality NATO standard ) ...... Maybe France ( Naval Group )

Turkiye has the highest simultaneous production volume in Europe
Turkiye can easily produce 3 Frigates in a few years, or even more.

Hurjet being considered by Japan as an option.

Muuaaaah, the chance is smal.

No its actually quite good if they don't make their own from scratch and they buy one, it will be Turkish.

#1 the Japanese will never buy Korean.

#2 There is no one else that will offer the lucrative and generous offer that Turkey would give, in terms of having their own avionics and customization.

The biggest competition for this tender is if they build their own jet.

There is a slight possibility they buy the M-346 b/c the Italians have it already and Britain, Italy and Japan are all in the same fighter jet program.

I think Turkey being competitive in the British tender would also help this cause.

If there're no major delays in KAAN project, we could benefit from these delays in theory.
