Kizilelma is cheaper than a regular manned fighter. not a 1 for 1 replacement cost wise. Also you don't need as many pilots.

Its not even ready yet, and we have heard from many sources trying to acquire. Kizilelma might really just be Baykar's Kizilelma. Not many people have a drone in development of this caliber.

Others have also shared this news. I would not be surprised if Saudi Arabia buys 400 Kizilelma. They have already bought $3.1 billion worth of UCAV from Baykar.

It very interesting seeing the same Chassis with two different Turrets. The First one is a Belgian Turret and the Second one is Italian.

I hope one day we see a version with a MKE Turret and a Turkish BMC Powerpack(I think somewhere between a LEVEND and UKTU powerpack).

The market of Light Tanks and auxiliary guns like to Booker and other platforms is expanding.

The main issue is the Gun/Turret, the powerpack should not be difficult to develop for BMC as they have similar engines already in development. They probably haven't developed one yet b/c there is no current domestic order for that configuration of a light tank, neither Tupar nor Kaplan.

Türkiye’s defense exports hit record $7.2B in 2024​

Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industry achieved a significant milestone in 2024, recording $7.2 billion in exports, a 29% surge from the previous year, head of the Turkish Defense Industries Secretariat said on Friday.

This achievement surpasses the year’s defense export target of $6.5 billion by 11%, Haluk Gorgun announced on X platform.

Highlighting the industry’s robust international performance, Gorgun said: "Thanks to our international cooperation activities and contacts, our companies have become able to export not to a certain region but to almost the entire world." [...]

Wow and I think the export target was 10 billion US dollars by 2030.

Turkey is soon going to be among the top 5 with USA, France,UK, China and South Korea.

Still do not understand why nobody is willing to make a turret in Turkiye?

Well the Turret needs a Gun, the Turret is really just a metal shell. There is no modern 105mm gun design in Turkey.

MKE is probably the best positioned to build such a gun that would then be integrated by someone like Rocketsan or other contractors like Otokor or BMC.

They have made turrets before like the Altay Turret as well as IFV turrets.

I think its b/c there are no domestic orders for these platforms, so MKE didn't build one, and the designers and integrators of the Platform FNSS, Otokor decided to just buy off the shelf from Belgium and Italy.

Italy is less likely to Embargo, but Belgians will certainly embargo the Cockerill gun at the first sign of trouble.

Altay's engine is 1500 hp. the situation would not have changed even if Otokar had won the tender. Germany is the only country in the world that produces such an engine.

They don't have their own powerpack. Otokar buys the engines from European countries for their vehicles. For example the the Tulpar uses a Scanai diesel engine from Sweden.

The Altay contract was supposed to use an MTU engine from Germany, that got embargoed.

Turkish arms company Aselsan has signed a contract with Polish company AMZ-Kutno for the delivery of radar and electro-optical systems for Kleszcz reconnaissance vehicles. The value of the contract is estimated at over 16 million euros.

Bangladesh's transitional government chief Muhammad Yunus has urged Türkiye to bring its technology to his country and help build the defence industry.

“You are the leader of the technology; you can build your defence industry here. Let’s make a beginning … we are available for anything that you need,” Yunus told a delegation led by Türkiye's Trade Minister Omer Bolat on Thursday night in Dhaka.
