The TF35000 Program wasn’t launched in 2022. Here’s an interesting fact about the habits of Turkish authorities: a project isn’t officially announced until it’s at least 70% complete. So, if it was announced in 2022, that means at least 70% of the work had already been finished by then.
The first tests of the TF35000 engine that will power the KAAN will take place in 2026TEI General Manager Mahmut Faruk Akşit:The TF35000 will be a special engine designed for a 5th generation fighter jet. Of course, it will be a very superior engine, and there will also be additional technologies. Those studies are currently ongoing. The TF35000 will be able to reach supersonic speeds without using an afterburner.

Latest Status on TS1400
TEI General Manager Akşit: "Certification work on the TS1400 is taking a bit longer these days. Actually, the engine is mechanically ready to fly right now. We've done every kind of test on it. We even pushed it to 1700-1800 horsepower. So, the maximum continuous power requested from us was actually 1298 horsepower.
But just to be safe, we'd designed it for 1400 horsepower, but we went way higher, and the engine's still operational—meaning our engine is really powerful; we subjected it to quite a few unusual tests. Fuel consumption was a bit high at first, but we brought that down too. In fact, our engine outperforms imported engines in terms of power and capacity because that's what they asked from us."
I hope they can get it certified this year and start deliveries for production aircraft.
TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Faruk Akşit:
— KAAN TF35000 is on schedule, no delays.
— TS1400 helicopter engine is in mass production, certification is nearing completion.
— PD200 and new UAV engines are in the qualification process.
— TF6000 turbofan tests achieved 5,900 pounds of thrust.
— Engine production for T-70 continues, the 100th engine has been delivered.
— A more powerful, new generation national engine will be developed for the T-925.
