Turkish Engine Programs

This is such an embarassment from MSB Arge.

To come out with Turbofan engine, Turboshaft engine and ICBM. While having no facilities to produce it.

We worked hard for 20 years to make a room for Turkish products in the international market and these clowns tarnishing our name.

I don't think its fake. But its not a new engine.

It seems to be a backup program, a reverse engineering of the F110 but likely with the materials and newer tech and materials that Turkey has made. Whereas the TF35000 is a next gen design from scratch.

This seems more like a research project as of now, rather than a full production ready engine. Apparently 6 such engines have been produced for research and development purposes.

MSB-ARGE produced 6 GUCHAN Turbofan Engines

Ministry of National Defense:

Our Ministry's work in the field of liquid-fueled rocket and aircraft engines began many years ago.

Thanks to single-crystal technology, the resistance of engine components to high temperatures and intense operating conditions has been increased, resulting in significant gains in efficiency, performance, and service life.

The GÜÇHAN Turbofan Jet Engine is a high-thrust national jet engine whose all components were developed by the Ministry of National Defense Research and Development Center and produced entirely with domestic resources.

A total of 6 engines with a thrust of 42,000 lbf (pounds of force) have been produced to date, and qualification tests of these engines are planned to be carried out in 2026

There's no other group in the world as insecure and full of inferiority complexes as this one in Turkiye .. full of CHP supporters or FETO members or USA-Israel backed traitors

Next Year MSB ARGE:

images.jpeg

We have developed Millenium Falcon to take on enemy in the space.

The only thing that can shut-up people is to TEI manager to come out and say "Yes, we were secretly working with MSB to develope an engine"

They should also explain why they are working for years to create a 35000 lbf engine.
Also, MSB should explain why they showcased a F110 engine for their 42000 lbf engine.

They should also explain why they are working for years to create a 35000 lbf engine.

If you follow the news the Thrust is far larger than 35000, this was the target, but they are projecting a higher thrust.

I don't know the Thurst range for this reverse engineered engine, but they said they have built 6 of these and they will be doing testing this year, it will tell us if the Thurst level is met, as well as durability of the engine and how close we have gotten in reverse engineering the F110. Again, this is not a production engine, and likely not even a next gen engine, but something to test the level of capabilities.

I wish and pray that Türkiye masters engine technology, and Pakistan also joins all the engine projects with Türkiye. Mastering this technology is a matter of life and death for the Muslim world.

Well turkey already have engines for all sort of drones, missiles (sub sonic and supersonic) and ramjet engines as well. It also offers tank engines and helicopter engines.

What you need ?

Not yet, many are prototypes and not in production yet, and some engines still in development. I would say in 10 years, Turkey will be on more solid foundation.

Look i was here back in 2014, when TEI first annouced their turboshaft engine project. We were all happy and hyped. TEI partnered with several universities, and industries for that project. Tubitak Sage worked hard and solved some material puzzles for TEI like single crytal blades, thermal coating etc... Then we watched them going in to design stages and finishing each stage. Then they fired the engine core. Ground tests, aerial tests. Finally they finished it. Then they went in to engine production for KAAN. They set the goal and begin working, currently they are aiming for a 35000 lbf engine for KAAN to be finished by 2032.

Then these guys come out in 2025 July, (we have never heard of them before) and 10 months later they said finished a 42000 lbf engine and produced 6 of them.

So, allow me to be sceptical instead of jumping up and down like a fanboy.

Minister Güler:

We have produced a total of 6 of these engines to date, with all critical components manufactured using domestic capabilities. We plan to conduct the engines' testing and calibration processes starting from November 2026. Our main goal here is to reduce external dependency in critical technologies, enhance our own engineering capabilities, and lead the way for our defense industry companies by establishing a sustainable national infrastructure.

Who is telling you that the TEI engine and this engine is the same thing or even has the same capabilities as the TEI engine being developed from scratch?

This engine is a research project to see if Turkey can reverse engineer the F110 domestically, its not going to have supercruise like the TF35000, its not going to be optimized for low Infrared signature like the TF35000, and many other features and capabilities.

This is purely a research project to see if Turkey if it wanted to, could it reverse engineer the F110 domestically.

Turkey was locally producing the F110 earlier with GE Transfer of tech, and some components were still coming from GE in the US and being integrated into the F110 being produced locally(things that GE didn't do tech transfer for).

This project is to see if Turkey can build that F110 engine without GE input, with the materials science that it has learned over the years from various programs and experiences it has gained.

The testing of this engine is going to start November 2026, and they will see how close Turkey has gotten to the real thing, and if in some areas it has exceeded the old engine. It will test the overall Thrust, it will test durability of the turkish parts, it will test all sorts of things.

Now you may be wondering why do all this? There is already a TF35000 project. But what happens if the TF35000 is delayed and the US embargoes the F110 engine, this is to see if Turkey can produce the F110 domestically without input from GE, and purely with domestic capabilities.

Is he playing mind games on USA, i don't understand....

For now, nothing but I pray that Turkey soon masters ship engines, submarine engines, and fighter jet engines as well.

Fighter Jet Engines are in development, the Ship engines, I'm hoping Turkey can get a license production deal with GE for the LM2500. Japan and Italy license produce them, and India recently managed to secure a deal to license produce them.

Submarines are the most tricky. Outside on China and Russia, in the Western scope, No one except Germany and Japan have their own Submarine engines, and the Japanese have issues with defense export laws.

I thought South Korea might build them or Turkey and South Korea might build them together, but it seems South Korea is going straight to Nuclear propulsion, and will likely not build engines. And Turkey might take the same development path with the NUKDEN program. The new MILDEN submarines being built as a followup to the Reis Class will likely be using German MTU engines.

Crazy they say we have:D, I think it is a capycat off F16 engine with the latest technologies. They do not show it because off Americans. Other whise mission imposibble, look to TEI they are starting from scratch ahahah....

Kale Jet Engines General Manager Cüneyt Kenger:

“There is a high demand for our engines both domestically and internationally. In parallel, we have also taken our precautions and positioned ourselves in a way that we can achieve three-digit and four-digit numbers in the coming years.

Therefore, growing to three-digit and four-digit numbers does not represent a huge effort for us; we only needed to position our supply chain, which we have accomplished.

The situation with the ARAT project is going well at the moment; the altitude tests of our engine are being conducted. By the end of this year, we aim to largely complete the qualification works. Next year, we aim to slowly begin the mass production of our ARAT engine.

We have also started working on different engines, such as turbofans. We may have a surprise regarding this next year.”

The scepticism over Güçhan and Yıldırımhan are so overwhelming that Defence Minister had felt the need to do a press meeting with the all force commanders behind him.

"
At our Ministry of National Defence R&D Center, we have taken our work to a more advanced level through the technology hub we established two years ago.

Our YILDIRIMHAN Long-Range Missile represents a significant technological milestone as Türkiye’s first liquid-fueled rocket missile system capable of hypersonic cruise speeds and possessing the longest range among our missile systems.

The system has successfully completed laboratory testing processes, and we will begin field and ground tests in the upcoming period.

Another product we have developed within this scope is the GÜÇHAN Turbofan Jet Engine.

It is a national jet engine developed entirely by the Ministry of National Defence R&D Center.

All critical components of the engine are produced using domestic capabilities, and to date we have manufactured a total of six engines.

We plan to carry out the testing and calibration processes of these engines starting from November 2026. Our primary objective here is to reduce foreign dependence in critical technologies, enhance our own engineering capabilities, and lead our defence industry companies by establishing a sustainable national infrastructure.

We know that our citizens, our country, and the Turkish Armed Forces need such a product. God willing, we will continue to diversify these products in the coming period as well. Thank you."
