Turkish Foreign Policy and Regional Geopolitics

I don't know where to put it so I'm leaving this here since it partly happens on Turkish soil.

Barely noticed, one of the oldest Christian churches is falling further apart. A direct result of the war in Ukraine.

Politics between Moscow and Constantinople cause all this trouble. On one hand,Moscow has been antagonizing that Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople for a long time. On the other hand, Bartholomew goes and does thinks like that. I know people both in Greece who are against him and I know people here who support him, saying it's all the Russians' fault. This is going to ruin our relationship with the Serbs.

Reporter: Does Türkiye want to be part of a (regional) alliance like the one formed by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia?

Turkish FM Fidan: As of now, there are ongoing talks, but we have not yet signed any agreement.

My POV: don't.

There's zero benefit for us, it's damaging the Pakistani-Turkish deterrence/dynamics, a [Pakistani] nuclear umbrella doesn't exist anyways.

Any advantage that Türkiye might obtain from this arrangement can be effortlessly realized by strengthening our bilateral relationship with the Saudis and without the constraints of an agreement.

While Islamabad may receive financial support from Riyadh, it also risks placing itself in jeopardy for a neighbor of Israel.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye have prepared a draft defence agreement after nearly a year of talks, Defence Production Minister Raza Hayat Harraj confirmed on Wednesday.

I guess they are going with it , but It doesn't say it is nuclear agreement if defense prod minister is talking about it ,it might be deal to produce arms together and increase defense cooperation

Will Komşu send military to defend a fellow EU member against an attacking NATO member? lol interesting times if this actually happens and Trump tries to take over Greenland, and many EU members refuse to help Denmark fight the US.

I think if Trump sends an aircraft carrier group there, everyone will bail out. Imagine Germans firing at Americans. Trump will go like "It's WWII again,we have to fight against the Germans! The Germans...they're always the same,we have to free Europe from Germany again....we have...look,we've done this twice. Twice!"

I found this guy very, very intelligent. He knows what he's talking about. He is the most complete and intelligent military officer I've encountered in my life.

This is very dangerous for all countries in the region. Normally, foreign occupying forces create proxies to destabilize an area. They then create a power vacuum and move in to fill it. This is a tactical method used to destabilize regions they intend to conquer. This is what they've been doing. Proxies are their foot soldiers.
