Turkish Foreign Policy and Regional Geopolitics

And how is this gonna help the Palestinians?

You are accusing Erdogan that he dont help the Palestinians.

Come with a battle plan or a realistic idea what really helps the Palestinians, because stopping with talking about the Israeli genocide is not gonna help.
It's not helping Syrians either. Here's the thing,we got a few Turks and pro-Turkish people who have been roaming around the forum, always talking big about the might of Turkey,
how easy the Turkish Armed Forces can destroy Yunanistan,Ermenistan,Kibris,Iran,Kurtlar etc. And when it comes to Israel all that bravado is gone and the same happens with Erdogan's narration of protecting Syria's terrotorial integrity.

I don't disagree with you. Your post makes sense and I'm not saying you're wrong. It's the others and the Turkish government that are making too much of a fuss about how strong Turkey is,yet do nothing when the IDF is grabbing land in south Syria or bombs army bases.

Who? Strawman.

Hehehe this is good for Turkey, Trump is threatening to fk this up if Europe excludes non European countries from EU funds to buy weapons. If he succeeds in getting Europe to back out of that, that means Turkey will likely be eligible to sell weapons to the EU states and get paid with EU funds. lol

They are asking us to enter into a defense agreement with the EU itself so that we can receive contracts from them, which would position us as official allies of Greece and Southern Cyprus.

I don't see it happening, Greece and Cyprus will veto.

To be honest we have no idea what Europe looks like in 20-30 years with this Ukraine war, if something starts in the Baltics. I'm not particularly keen on Turkey having to fight Russia on behalf of the EU.

Europe would have to make significant concessions to Turkey, for Turkey to enter into any sort of arrangement. And they can start this by updating the customs union and visa matters they have been promising since the refugee crisis, but never followed though on.

I get your point but currently even France is open to include the Turks in future European security arrangements due to the looming Russian threat if we accept their vision of Europe's prospect.

Right now the Greeks are vastly isolated in the EU in any matter related to Türkiye. I highly doubt they could veto us on their own given the fact that Western Europe is still the lifeline for the Greek economy.

France went along with Greece in Blocking Turkey selling weaponry and receiving Eu funds. France historically has always been hostile towards EU membership for Turkey, saying things like Turkey isn't European so EU is not possible and other things. They were only a few years back threatening with Warships and signing military arrangements with Greece, I can't image their posture changing on Turkey this swiftly.

Lets see, Even if they want Turkey, there is baggage involved in getting tied down to the EU structure. I'm not opposed to it, I'd let it play out, and see where the chips fall as they say. At the very least there need to be significant concessions to Turkey on the Customs issue and the Visa liberalization among other things, before a defense infrastructure is committed to.

We have no idea how things play out in Europe in 20-30 years. Lets assume a scenario where Russia attacks the Baltics and the US refuses to send troops, do we really want Turkey to send troops to fight Russia in that Scenario? especially when the US has walked away? If the US is not involved, I don't think Russia can be defeated in the baltics. Neither France or Germany has the military capacity to fight Russia in the Baltics with the geographic advantage Russia will have.

Any kinetic exchange between Turkey and Russia will have effects in the Caucasus.

LOL

They think they are talking about Turkmenistan.

Turkey is not a Arab nation from the movie Aladdin and the Wonderlamp.

If Turkey reaches a deal with Country A for a military base, they wont be afraid for Country B and will implement this deal like they did in Qatar, Somalia, Iraq and Libya.

At this moment, Turkey is not a danger for them because they are not at war with each other - so with which arguments can the IAF attack bases of a NATO-member?

They cant say that there are Hamas members in those Turkish bases or that Turkey plans an attack on Israel from those bases, no one will buy that.

Time is very important here.

Turkey need the time to build a military infrastructure in Syria and Israel need time to diversify and justify its attacks against Gaza (Hamas), Lebanon (Hezbollah), Yemen (Ansarullah), Syria (Turkey) and Iran.
