Turkish Foreign Policy and Regional Geopolitics

Just to be clear, the Greek military enthusiasts on social media are absolutely fuming. They argue that these systems and missiles are scarce and the inventory of Greece was already limited before the war.

In other words: just like the Gulfies, our neighbor's politicians are not prioritising their own country's military needs.

Just like the Arabs, the Greeks assume that EU and US will help them and save them from the 'evil Turks'. As we all know, this worked out perfectly for the Arabs.

They are in for a rude awakening.
That's partly correct. Half go berserk(mostly the anti-NATO lot),the others agree with the decision or at least say it is necessary(since we've signed agreements with both Saudis and Emiratis).

it would be hilarious though if Qataris turn around after this and say "you know what,no Eurofighters for you" :P Don't think they will do it,but anyway just saying.

No,actually most of our Patriot missiles (PAC-2 GEM)are old and almost expired. The rumor is that the the Gulf Arabs or the Americans will replace them with brand new PAC 3 MSE. Like I said above, both Emiratis and Saudis helped us with big stocks of spare parts for the Apache and Kiowa,as well as other equipment the last 2-3 years.

Not for Israel, for Saudis and Emiratis, with which we have agreements and with Qatar apparently. From what is being said, they will compensate the missiles with newer and better ones. Saudi have allegedly also promised to upgrade our battery there. The Emirates had provided us with big stocks of valuable spare parts for the Apache.

lol

And with Apache you are going to defend your airspae:ROFLMAO:..

Others in here said they were stored somewhere,a few days ago.

Regional superpower that won't even deploy its only ballistic system to the border and say "You know what Americans? We'll cover you. We'll show you our money was worth buying the S-400s you hate. You'll even thank us in the end"

Are we going to conduct business according to your lunatic brain ?

Why we should deploy S400s to the border ? while ANKARA is capital of Turkiye and hosts main Defense Industry facilities

INCIRLIK Air Base is under NATO AD protection including Spanish PATRIOTs

Those who are reliable and genuine Greek patriots are absolutely criticizing this decision. Greece waisting AD resources in the Gulf and having to wait years to receive replacement is nothing that gives us Turks sleepless nights.

You are also underestimating the Qatari-Turkish relationship. The military is only one part of this equation. The Turkish soldiers were not deployed to fight Iran anyways. Our presence was directed at Riyadh. The goal was to deter Saudi Arabia - and it worked.

We've had Apache for more than 20-25 years. We had a shortage of spare parts after the economic crisis and the Emiratis helped back in...I think 2024. The last 3 years anyway.
Why do you have Atak, bro? You have some...58 Atak and 53 Cobra. One could say "why do you need them, you're making so many drones?". But in the Gulf,Apache helicopters were seen hunting Iranian kamikaze drones.

Why we should deploy S400s to the border ? while ANKARA is capital of Turkiye and hosts main Defense Industry facilities
Why border? The S-400 covers a big area(like you kept trying showing us for years). And besides, you didn't buy just one battery.

You're making a mistake here in "reliable and genuine greek patriots",the other has a lot of true patriots as well. The government sees it as an opportunity to strengthen ties, prove that we're not just talk and actually try to help friends and probably got nice counteroffers about it(like I mentioned above). The bonuses aren't officially confirmed, but
rumors are circulating. The problem is,many of those who shout "you are giving our missiles to the rich Arabs!" are the of the same mentality that BMP-1 is a strong IFV and giving it to Ukraine weakened our defence. The infamous "you took the BMPs from the islands and now the islands are defenceless" argument. They are the ones who think we should keep all the Soviet/Russian AA systems.

You see, most of our air defence is outdated or becoming outdated. The HAWK,the OSA,
the Tor-M1,the Skyguard Velos(Sea Sparrow with 35mm Oerlikon). Just the Patriot can't keep an attacking away. That's why they're finally getting on with purchasing Spyder AiO,Barak MX and David's Sling from Israel. If the deal is signed, because the MoD won't sign anything.

The S400 covers a big area against Fighter Jets ( 240-380 km )
but S400 has the effective range against Ballistic Missiles in the terminal phase is 60 km

to protect whole ANKARA against Ballistic Missiles , we need all S400s

And Why we should waste S400 Missiles ? while NATO AD Systems protects INCIRLIK Air Base

You're talking nonsense, just like the Greek media
learn about military before talking

Man,Incirlik or not,it's your own territory! Four missiles went inside Turkish territory. What if it strayed and hit a residential area?

INCIRLIK hosts NATO's Nuclear Weapons therefore SM-3s protects INCIRLIK

Also there are Spanish PATRIOTs at Incirlik Air Base and more PATRIOTs were deployed to Incirlik from Germany a few weeks ago

INCIRLIK under NATO protection ,, we should protect ANKARA which is capital and hosts main Defense Industry Facilities like TUSAS , ASELSAN , ROKETSAN , etc

Oh yeah? You know how many missiles we sent them or how much $ worth of spare parts and ammo they gave us?

lol, Greeks must be sweating, allowing US aircraft to use their bases for US fighter jets and bombers. lol

And you trust them with something they don't themselves produce? lol

You better hope you don't need them, b/c it will be years before orders are filled.
