Turkey has near exclusive control of Somalia’s offshore oil and gas reserves, which are assumed to be among the biggest in the world. Turkish firms run Mogadishu’s international port and airport. Somali stores are fully staffed with Turkish products, number of Turkish owned businesses in the country. Turkey plans to base its space launch program in Somalia. Turkey has definitely milked Somalia.

Turkiye does not milk them out, first off all when the whole world turned to them only country who backed them are we. Under sanction we helped them, againg the only country who is backing them are against shabaab are we and the topic is with proof. Because off that they are working with us as a strategic partner and not slaves. The problem with Arabs is when they have no say on it is the begin off hate , Turks colonists. We can see it in Libya and Syria butt hurted.

We spent a lot of money in Somalia but we didn't achieve anything. We even established a training center called Camp Turksom to train the Somali army. We didn't extract oil or any other mineral.

Turkey is the reason Somalia even exists, no other country was willing to help Somalia when Turkey entered. Do you know what Mogadishu looked like before Turkey came?

Turkey does not have "exclusive control" of Somalia's Oil and Gas reserves, Somalia has soverignty over its reserves, it allowed for Turkish investment, Turkey was offered the foreign contract over other countries by Somalia, in exchange for Turkey offering to help Somalia build a Navy, this was during a time when Ethiopia was threatening to take parts of Somalia's coastline.

Somalia only has airports today b/c of Turkey, you are acting like managing the ports and airports is some sort of crime. Is there a Somalian company we don't know about that has experience in running ports? Who do you want managing the ports other than Turkey? Who else would be willing to do it?

The Turkish space launch site in Somalia will employ Somalis, no other country invested in Somalia.

Who do you see coming to Somalia's Aid, who helped against Ethiopia? Who trained Somali officers? Somalia would not be a state without Turkey. The rest of the Vultures literally either want to annex Somali land like Ethiopia or break off Somalia into pieces with Somaliland and other breakaway regions, as is being pushed by the UAE. Go look at the amount of Investments Turkey has put into Somalia and then compare it to whatever money Turkey has made, Its frankly disrespectful for you to Characterize Turkish support for Somalia as some sort of "Milking".

Turkey isn’t the only country helping Somalia against Al Shabab. In fact, pound for pound, Turkey doesn’t even come close to the level of military support provided by countries like the US, UK, Etc. heck even UAE has provided much more support than Turkey. The problem is every dollar given by Turkey is accompanied by $5 dollars of marketing which blows their support out of proportion.

No, Somalia has earmarked the most promising oil and gas blocks to Turkey. As we speak, Turkish vessels are drilling for oil in Somalia and Turkish navy is stationed in the exploration area.

Camp Turksom has not been as helpful as people make it out to be, and frankly shows Turkey’s weak support. The UK trains special force for the police which are highly trained and equipped. The US trains special force for both the intelligence and army. Both of these units are incredibly trained and have carried out remarkable military operations.

By contrast, the Turkey trained special units for the police and army have been subpar in comparison and have performed very poorly. Even the UAE trained Military Police is credited with securing Mogadishu for the past 3 years. No one credits Turkish trained forces for anything because objectively speaking, they are garbage.

There was no reason to provide Turkey preferential treatment. For the record, Turkey was not willing to take on Ethiopia. The Turkish navy was deployed to protect Turkish vessels searching for oil. Get your basic facts correct before debating. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

The UAE has developed Berbera port into a world class hub thought DP World and have spent substantially more than Turkey invested in Mogadishu which is the economic engine of Somalia. The UAE also built a world class port and airport in Puntland which are much more modern than the Turkish developed Mogadishu port and airport.

Turkey is the only reason Abi Ahmad signed that deal with Somalia, otherwise they would be breaking off the pieces of Somalia like a dead carcass.
